  • That's for the video... I have a Yamaha 90 2005 2 stroke... I am sure this is close enough for me to get my impeller replaced..Thanks !

  • can you do one on the lower gearseals, or ''shaftseal'' had a hard time with mine 96 johnson. thanks

  • @Mr671yigo Have not had that problem but if it comes up I will

  • I have the same engine and I have just winterized it for the first time. Changing the impeller was a piece of cake, especially after viewing this video. Thanks for the effort of making this video. If you have more video's on maintenance to this engine, please put them on youtube.

Great engine by the way, starts easy, runs smooth and reliable. Just love it.

  • I think I have the exact same motor - low/no flow out of the peehole - is it a safe bet that it's the impeller that needs replacing? I don't know how to troubleshoot it. Thanks for a great video man I feel like I can do this if that's what I need to do.

  • Thank you I appreciate you takeing the time to do this

  • Man what a great video I changed the impeller put it all back together but when I tried to bolt it back up I could not get the shaft to go all the way in. I wiggled and pushed for an hour nothing. I put it in forward gear and it went right together but stuck in forward gear. What Now?

  • @finderoftheway You will have to drop unit again, make sure you have the remote in neutral positon, on the lower unit the splined shaft the controls the forward and reverse needs to be turn so it is in neutral to know if you are in neutral the prop will spin freely.

  • Dan...Great video...I especially liked the detail you provided on making sure the impeller fins are properly oriented.. I had an impeller replaced at the shop and they oriented the impeller fins incorrectly which caused an overheat problem..

VERY GOOD VIDEO.. do you have any video's on yamaha outboard 50 or 150 to clean out the carburator?

thanking you for this wonderful video

    b

  • Don't have one on Yamaha Outboard but I do have one on Yamaha V-Star 650 motorcycle carb cleaning. Checkout my other videos by searching Danbury210

  • excellent video. I have a suzuki 140 ---- and did you place the motor in neutral when you pulled lower unit? Pretty much the same type engine design mines just larger.

    Thanks Russ

  • Arnt there any hoses from the cooling to disconnect?

  • Nope, just the speedometer tube. Remove bolts and it lower unit just drops out.
