  • Of the four videos I've watched just recently of performances of this solo. You are the only one who actually knows what bongos are supposed to sound like. Also, great double-strokes!

  • nice...

  • I couldn't have said it better myself lildrummerboy55!!!!

  • yea i usally am the kind who makes thing up on the spot but sometimes i have read wat the sheet says either ways it music and u gotta luv it

  • I read that whole, silly argument. It really wasn't much else but that- silly. Everyone has their different opinions, definitions, and ideas about music. Whether you think improvising or playing composed pieces makes you better, you are wrong. It is totally based on opinion. The best musician isn't the one who has the most musical talent, experience, etc., because music isn't necessarily always about creating the MUSIC itself, but the feeling it creates. Music is about its feeling, not talent.

  • ceri?

  • what drums is he using what r teh four big 1s called

  • tenor drums

  • That piece he is reading sounds like me improvising..something I don't particularly like to hear (my own playing)..Part of my prctice routine is to just play for about 40 minutes usualy at a certain tempo and see what develops paying special attention to the 4 bar phrase. Thats what it sounds like he's doing .. .You want to see some great drumming improvising check out those street drummers here on the tube...their stuff was way more interesting and complex then what that guy was doing.

  • i'd like to see you do some "improvising" that sounds like that

  • is he sight reading?!??!?!? awesomeness.

in response to the past comments.....following, AND improvising is both needed for good musicians.

  • veeeeery nice i dont think you even looked aat the drums

  • After a little time you don't need to look at the drums, you know where they are cause you've used them so much^^

  • nice.whath's the name of that piece?

  • I'm not proving you wrong or anything - I agree with what you said, but what I'm saying is that you're missing the point. Figure it out ^^

  • At least I was right about you, while you are continuing with your false accusations, because you haven't got anything else left to say. Give it up lol You're going really low now ^^ There is a difference between instrumental skills and musical talent. A developed instrumental skill lets you use your musical talent to it's maximum. But what good are those instrumental skills when you don't have any ideas in the first place.

  • I would also say that being able to play a real written piece of music is far more difficult than improvising one. I know from experience.

  • Once again you're wrong about me, dude. I've been playing 3 types of goblet drums, the guitar and the drum kit for as long as I can remember, and I've been producing breakbeat music for about 3 years now. So I think I know enough about music, to not be embarrassed by your lame and groundless provocations. And yes - as I said you are retarded, and you don't fucking understand what I'm saying. I said - yes it is really hard to play by reading, but it doesn't show musical talent.

  • I've seen people just like you - you can't play by ear, and therefore you stick to your musical education and bash at improv, cause mom and dad turned you into a robot, and now you don't even know how to make music, cause reading notes ate your brains. If I'm right - you're not a musician. The bullshit that some people come up with... Calling me a kid, saying I don't have experience... Do YOU even believe that made up stuff ? Didn't you have a real argument to give ?

  • And I have seen people like you. People who are so embarrassed at their own lack of skill and talent they forget that on average, studied musicians are far superior to, "amateurs," such as yourself. I play studio jazz, book learning is essential. You perform written work, but you tweak it and make it your own. The learning provides a solid foundation from which to explore your own style. Stop being a sulky little kid.

  • What do you think made me watch this ? My lack of experience ? Who do you think you're fooling... Me ? As if I don't know how much time I've spent on music. I mean - how fucking lame are you ? There wasn't even an argument between as two - I was saying the same thing, only that reading notes needs skill which everyone can develop, but improvisation is something only people with talent can do. You probably can't even improvise, altho I can't know for sure.

  • You're probably one of those book worm musicians - started playing some random instrument at the age of 2 for no fucking reason cause your parents told you to. And u think ur a big shot, cause you can play with no talent or ideas - lame ass piece of shit - don't talk back, just calmly accept the facts. Go read some notes or something, see if you can entertain anyone with your robot-like note reading skills dipshit ^^

  • It's very hard to play any instrument by just reading notes. But this is bad... I mean - he's a great instrumentalist, but if he can't put stuff like that together by only improvising then he isn't as great as all of you think of him. A lot of people can improvise better solos than this. He is good, but nothing special if you ask me.

  • I must agree. Not that I don't give any credit to people that read everything, but none of it comes from you. Music is art, and art is about creativitu. Do we give credit to people that trace their drawings? Negatory mate.

  • Nicely said :)

  • Hey kid, this is a composition by Lynn Glassock. Playing composed pieces or playing by free improvisation are two different pair of shoes and improvisation is a lot easier than playing by notes. But you have obviously no experience in music.

  • HAhaha... Kid ? Are you fucking kidding me ? As if you know how much experience I have. Yes it is fucking harder to play with notes, but you can improvise and make a better sounding solo - and improvising has soul, where this is just reading notes. Dumb fucker...

  • he's reading a partiture right?

  • Very nice =)

  • who cares what the guy loox like.

hes got beter rudiments than any of you

  • lynn glassock couldn't compose his way out of a paper bag

  • Wow the fatass can read notes and play drums.... whoopty fuckin dooooooooo

  • lol, he's drumming after notes:O ^^ nice!

  • Very uninteresting

  • hahahahahahaha THE STAR WARS KID PLAYING PERCUSSION HAHA THATS FUCKING AWESOME

  • very nice! i wish my music class had nice stuff like that..

my exam pieces this year are all boring and stuff... nice performance!

  • Monaca, about 30 mins NW of Pittsburgh if you didn't know. no, I don't play drums, but I really want to buy a set.

  • mt lebanon huh? In PA? I live near there ;D

  • cool, where at? do u play drums.

  • this is a horrible piece of music!

  • You are quite good but you look stupid so it ruins it sorry

  • HAHA ur funny and i know what u mean

  • Wow. Star Wars Kid plays percussion..cool

  • Yep, this is from the Mt. Lebanon high school percussion ensemble's recital concert, where the kids perform different solos that they've been working on.

  • Nice solo man... and good chops too! I'm jealous I can't read that well. Were you performing at school or something?
