What an outstanding song. The beat is just other-worldly. And Ilayaraja adds a rattlesnake-like sound at the end of the first line of the pallavi.
The beat stays with you throughout the song - such consistency... and the point where it stops at the end of stanza is thrilling.
The bass flute in the first interlude is fabulous. There's a counterpoint technique used in the anupallavi where the chorus sings along with the main vocals, but sings a slightly different tune.
