Im interested in becoming a York TA. I would like the luxury of being a full-time student and be paid as much as a full-time employee at the same time. Therefore, I can pursue my full-time education while earning a full-time salary. I would like to have my cake and eat it too!

There are two parties in the labour dispute. You can't "blame" the strike on the union until you've already made the judgment that they should accept what was offered. I am a CUPE member but thankfully my division is not involved. York gave us the option to support the TAs but we wouldn't get paid. I wait 20 minutes or so everyday to cross the picket lines to get to work. No one in my divion decided to support the TAs and help picket, even though some of them are our friends.

hahaha so funny,...im still waiting for this stupid strike to end. I understand CUPE's wants and agree with afew, but at least lets settle on a work to rule for now so we can all get back to life. To all the people that are ranting about this; it was made 100% clear not to hit any of the protesters. That's why none of them were hit. We fought each other and hit inanimate objects, like fences (which are illegal in the first place). We were trying to prove how ridiculous these protests are, not "endanger" anyone. The strikers at Sentinel were actually laughing and applauding the skit. If you're day was ruined by a few guys fighting as ninjas for 30 seconds, get over your smug selves.
