Search IDORA PARK DEMISE on You Tube and you will have even more of an opinion when a park HAS to close for economic reasons. Whether it is money, greed, fire, lack of customers, or nature related. Watch the old films of a beautiful park that was once a Trolley Station at the end of the line where families would come to enjoy a picnic and casual rides. It is heart wrenching to see it, just like your park was ripped out of your town. I feel for you!
This guy is clearly a jackass, someone should have stepped in from a higher authority and give him a sift kick in the ass. People like this deserve the worst that comes to them, concerned with norhing but money.
i didn't think he is GM i though he was a VP of park operation. i might be wrong i work at cedar point durning the summer that i loved it when i asked a manager she said he was VP of park opps nice guy though
I also laughed at the guy at :33; it was certainly a fair question. And while I'm sad to see Geauga Lake go, it didn't make sense from a business perspective to keep it open. Cedar Point's growing stature within the last 21 years has sucked all the amusement park air out of northern Ohio. Unfortunately Geauga Lake was doomed to go under just like Euclid Beach and Chippewa Lake, regardless of whom owned it.
As a Chicagoan who came to Ohio with my parents every other summer (I'm living in the U.K. now)...AND who lost OUR only local amusement park, Riverview, before the end of the 1960's, I enjoyed many visits to Geauga Lake, and *all* the fun and people therein..
lol @ him saying he wants to keep his kids at kenston schools, then transferring to sandusky for his job. lmao @ the guy at 33 seconds asking the question, awesome how he asked it. haha. if people believe that Cedar Fair did not buy GL for the purpose of closing it, then they have rocks in their head. It is obvious that buying it without the reasons of closing it would be unprofitable.
I have lost a part of myself That I will never get back. I want to say alot of bad things but ill hold my tounge. Ill just sit here and feel empty, bored with nowhere to go now.
hello coasterdad! (sarah - friend of shaggs from ZGN & fellow GL mourner)
I have SO many memories associated with GL.... and knowing it's "gone" for good.... kills me. I worked there, met friends that are family to me there, fell in love there, that place was Everything to me... and I get to drive by it every time I take my idiot to work... lol thanks for the post!!
