  • how could anyone dislike this?!?! its pure beauty! <3

  • this song is a masterpiece .

  • I love this spacy powerful sound.

  • WOW. this song is pretty powerful. i never knew this side of The Killers...

  • I think of my grandmother when I first heard this song and still do amazing women who never judged and always accepted everyone. I had so many moments with her I wish I could get back just for one day.

  • I died the night my son was taken away. but resurrected when i found God!

  • My mom, was my best friend...my only friend. When she died of Cancer, I just...couldn't bare the thought of living anymore. No more hugs, no more kisses, no more lil gifts she'd get for me on lil Holidays. I will remember, I was by her bed stroking her heading and just crying...I knew she didn't have any longer...All a sudden the machine stopped beating, and just like that...she was gone. Her last words were "I love you, be good now." I can still feel her arms around me. Night Mom <3 7-1960-11

  • The bar's been set pretty high for LP4....

  • lex luthor disliked this

  • Why is everyone arguing about shit that doesn't matter??? Please stop ignoring the important things...

  • Brandon wrote this song for Dave after his mother died...

  • Can't listen to this without crying.

  • At 1:03 it sounds like it says "Miirannda~" I thought that was weird since thats my name o_o

  • My brother died when I was young. . . . He was only 6 and we'd play star wars and pirates. But until a drunk bastard killed him in a car accident. . . He vanished so fast. And I know there is nothing I can do or say. I visit his grave everyday when I go to school and i'll play this song and just cry and scream to the sky. I'll hug his tomb stone and I swear I can hear him saying "Don't cry" I miss him so much. . . </3 R.I.P Maxx Travel Well, wait for me by the gates (:

  • @ThePaulaCracker D': I'm so...so..sorry ): </3 I've lost a love one to a drunk. I feel your pain....

  • @ThePaulaCracker Im so sorry for your loss sometime were wrapped up in ourselves to notice someone elses pain. But your brothers always watches over you just feel that he is around always.

  • Great song. Been listening to it for two years, but I've never seen the Killers play it live. It must be to emotional for Brandon to do it...

  • smallville rules!

  • This song matches the death of both my mother & father .

I uploaded it when they were both still alive.

I can honestly say it is the most beautiful song I have ever heard.

  • @atlbroad I am terribly sorry for the loss of your parents. If I could, I would give you the biggest hug ever and I most likely would not let go.

  • Whyyy are there ONLY 140,575 likes? thats how many times ive listened to this song this week! ¬.¬

  • There is something about THE KILLERS that turns me on ;)

  • its a beautiful song and when im sad somehow makes everything go away in a dreamland.

  • You know what brought me here...The Killers

  • Hands down Day and Age's best track. One of the best Killers songs overall as well.

  • this was my breakup song two years ago..

the memories come flooding back everytime I hear it.

fuck. this song is so powerful.

  • @KaylaKeifer this was (one of) my breakup song(s) too. except, this was 5 months ago

  • @angelfrmabov32697 Sorry Einstein but they released the album in 2008 so the song is old enough to be his breakup song..

  • @KebleTar no, im talking about MY breakup

  • @angelfrmabov32697 Omg, I'm so sorry, I totally misunderstood your comment. I thought you were another one of these let's-make-someone-sad youtubers so I just wanted to protect that guy. I really thought you were trying to "correct" his grammar with those parentheses, I'm really sorry. :-)

  • @KebleTar it's fine :)

  • @KaylaKeifer this songs about sex slavery...I think you took the meaning wrong...

  • @betsi2196 I think you did. MTV did in fact use the song for this purpose, however the song was written by Flowers at the time his mother was dying and if you listen to the lyrics, you may see that this song is about someone close travelling away (dying) and about being unable to stop it.

Of course it fits MTV's anti-sex-slavery video but that subject doesn't match the album's other songs at all.

  • @betsi2196 actually, it's about his mom dying

  • @betsi2196 @MrGeo44 It was written about Brandon and Dave's mothers dying, but MTV later used it for sex trafficking (not slavery) awareness. Therefore, it was not "created for" the awareness video. Way to have fabulous grammar, guys, as well... -.-"

  • All my thoughts wrapped up in one amazing. Song. Does anyone know what the main instrument in the song is? Besides his voice.

  • this song is better with no clip

  • just, just... intriguing

  • sorry for double comment but whoever disliked this has some issues because this song is amazing, even if u dont like the singer, it really ment something to the singer because his mom died when he was making the record.

  • @jaswer1 No, it's about his mother dying.

  • @jaswer1 No it wasn't. MTV used the song for their human trafficking awareness project but that's not the reason Brandon wrote it. Listen to the lyrics..

  • the singer made it for his mom because she died while he was making the album, it from Day and age by the killers. and if anyone one makes fun of this song it makes me so mad, not that anyone has, its just something that irritates me

  • stay don't leave me...

  • Lucca brought me here.

  • I am making a youtube.film about romance, drama, and tragedy, and supernatural powers. This song is perfect for when amber gets killed and jed

    Ssie sacrifices herself

  • the killers brang me here..enough said

  • didn't hear this on smallville. just an awesome internet search brought me hear, the unicef.

  • Oh god...this song is just...incredible...

It's 100% apropriatte to Lex Luthor death's on Smallville, the song is just so sad and beautiful at the same time. It's the first time i'm hearing her.

  • Lex Luthor made 3 youtube accs and disliked it =p

  • Thumbs up if you heard this on smallville

  • there's nothing i can do now....

  • @123Arela321 seriously not appropriate..

  • 3 people are abominations of mankind

  • I heard it on Smallville...!!!! I loved it from the first time...!!!

  • I want this and many other

    Killers songs at my funeral

    x

  • Great epic song but I think they borrowed that keyboard part in the beginning from "Comfortably Numb". Am I the only one?

  • "There's nothing I can say, there's nothing I can do now" - Think about that in a colloquial context (every day conversation). Sure, it sounds sad and you'd feel a little bad for someone if they said that. But somehow, the way Brandon sings it truly brings you feeling. It's overwhelming. For me, when I hear this, it's like vague fragments of memories playing in my head... so weird haha. But it's something special for sure. #thepowerofmusic

  • REQUIEM FOR SMALLVILLE

  • @thesum333 RIP Lex

  • does anyone think this has slight similarities to "climbing up the wall" by radiohead?

  • This song was in my "killers + muse" playlist, and for two seconds I thought this is a Muse song....

  • @DawgStudios I heard it on Smallville and thought the same thing.

  • This is the song that HAS to be played at my funeral. Then I can sit on my casket and watch everyone sob.

  • Damn. I want this at my funeral

  • 2 people are a disgrace to humanity. This song is so beautiful.

  • @rookieasif it's called your mum's house, you should visit sometime, ya limey bum.

  • 4:49 Epic change. The most beautiful song I have ever heard. Love it.

  • This song vibrates through my bones and jolts my brain into a state of pure bliss then my entire body climaxes at 4:46 followed by a non stop eargasm till the song is over.

  • "Nothing........ nothing I can say or do now " the exact words !!!

bye bye JJ. and V,....travel well.

  • wat een depri muziek Dx

  • This is the most under rated Killers song ever. 7 minutes of pure emotion and aw inspiring crescendo. it reminds me of the horrible endings we have so many times in thru our lives. death, separation, when we ourselves lie down dieing. we think of all the things we loved and tried to hold on to the best we could, but they slip right thru your fingers at the end, and when they do you're not upset, you're happy that you held on to them for that small second and experienced emotion at it's finest.

  • this song has very deep meaning to me. It has its meaning because it reminds me of my mom who has just passed away and it means a lot of significance to me

    Love You Mom

  • This song is Supernatural. <3

  • So amazing..makes me feel alive

  • The "here comes the best part" annotation should go for the whole video

  • Damn this song kicks ass

  • It is a song about letting go. Letting go of live, loss and love. No dissrespect intended, but it is a great song for funerals.

  • @GuardianAngel071 Just the other day I was thinking how I wanted this to be played at my funeral!

  • I have to go cry and hug my family now...

  • This is a really great song

  • word.

  • STAY,DON'T LEAVE ME,THE STARS CAN WAIT FOR YOUR SIGN,DON'T SIGNAL NOW...why did you leave me?everytime i see something that was yours or place you used to be i rememeber you..and i start to cry...oh god, please take care of him..tell him I'll love him forever....

  • the song can be interpreted in many ways. it is a very haunting song, could be meant after a breakup or a lost loved one or something else like war too. one of the best songs ever written. it's very depressing and makes you think deeply about yourself and what life means to you

  • @diana351 I think it was written about the family members that died of a couple of the group members. I read it somewhere. Can't remember where.

  • @fallgirl07 It's about Brandon finding out his mother had cancer. She just passed away this February.

  • @VirtualRaconteur It started as a tributing song to one of the co-writers for the song, then it grew onto Brandon's mother.

  • "stay don't leave me the stars can wait for your sign, don't signal now" exactly how you feel when your watching someone die. I love that the killers were so honest with this song.

  • The ending kind of kills the sadness in the song.

  • This song reminds me of my beloved partner who passed away 3 years ago but seems like yesterday and that picture with these words just brilliant!

  • @MNDSA9 yesss

  • where did you get that picture?

  • best song off day&age without a shadow of a doubt... fantastic job with the unicef vid that was done a couple of months ago... brill lyrics too... go brandon! :P

  • another amazing song by the killers.

    meaningful too.

  • The song 'Goodnight, Travel Well' (set to be the closing track on the forthcoming album, 'Day & Age') is a tribute to Brandon's mother, who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, and Dave Keuning's mother, who recently passed away.

  • wasn't that 'a dustland fairytale' ?!? that's what i heard...

  • It was written for Brandons mother who was diagnosed with a Brain Tumor and Daves mother who passed away.

"The song 'Goodnight, Travel Well' (set to be the closing track on the forthcoming album, 'Day & Age') is a tribute to Brandon's mother, who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, and Dave Keuning's mother, who recently passed away.'

  • oh...thats so sad...
