  • i love this....so cool and dreamy

  • This is my favourite version of this song. Gives the song a whole new heart. Love it.

  • Now that is talent,a beautiful beautiful version of a classic...............

  • HomeComing !!

  • Beautiful music...

  • awsome

  • Time to wave bye bye!!!!

  • she's beautiful.

  • Iam so obsessed with this cover this woman's voice goes through me i love her so much and as a HUIGE Bowie fdan this was always one of my hosted hated Bowie songs till now.

  • Love this cover.

  • Great cover.

  • much love, respect and gratitude to bands who cover bowie! keep good music alive!

  • this is gorgeous you haters suck as usual

  • Lethargic cover, nothing original here or unique

  • @MrCorndogEater Yes there is, like erickroby33 said, she made it her own. She's AWESOME!!

  • this is so much better than david bowies version

  • @taliaproductions1 Emilou agrees!!!!

  • Wow! Incredible music rendition of the song's spirit and meaning. Can't et it out of my head.

  • she is beyond hot, im 100% but i heard her voice on this song at the end of a movie, so i looked it up , her voice melts me n this is one song that aint country that i listen to faithfully everytime i get in my jeep

  • really too amaizing cover i love it .

  • How did Bowie miss how soulful this tune could be.

  • Quite shocked it doesn't have more views. This song is beautiful!

  • Lol a melhor versão claro fora a do Bowie!!!!

  • Looks like Tanya Donnelly from Throwing Muses and Belly.

  • This song is the best version of Modern Love anyone can create, to me the original is shit, because all bowie does there is kill the song and the music, here on the other hand you have a great singer for the song, an outstanding melody on the lapsteel and a great tempo to match everything, 10/10

  • @MetallicaJamesHetfie LOL @ your opinion.

  • Who is this wonderful woman !

    Megan Hickey...

You did an excellent version of this song...not better because there's only one original, but you did it slowly and it's sound very very good..

    Like a modern Love Song...

    Bravo Mademoiselle !!!

  • good cover still like bowies better but very well done

  • Megan, you and your song are beautiful.

  • Beautiful song, i known her from movie 'homecoming' with the beautiful Mischa Barton

  • Love it....this band did an amazing job with this song....like it better then the original...

  • beautiful

  • Wow, way to take a great song and make it completely boring. Yes, slowing a song down to a funeral pace takes real talent!

  • @muse1176 The song suites this tempo too dude...Ever listen to the lyrics?! Bowie was being ironic when he paired the two together...

  • @doondoom massive Bowie fan. Why would you assume just because I don't like it means that I some how "don't get it'?

  • Amazing cover, dark and ethereal transforms a boppy Bowie tune and makes me wish he had the presence of mind to sing it like this, mind you her feminine touch makes it all the more beautifully tragic...well done!

  • one of if not the best cover i have ever heard

  • wow it's beautiful.

  • too good

  • THE 41 PEOPLE THAT DISLIKE THIS IS CRAZY. THIS BAND IS TALENTED, THEY TOOK THE SONG AND MADE IT THERE OWN. I LOVE THIS VERSION..GOOD JOB!!!

  • Great song, really beautiful meaning. I liked it in Homecoming too.

  • @tandeify just saw that and decided how pretty it is!! and downloaded it here

  • homecoming's song, beautiful song too ^^

  • My favorite Bowie song reimagined by a beautiful redhead... Doesn't get any better than this. Her voice is exquisite too.

  • Even David Bowie loves this cover

  • Lovely Cover and I am a hardcore Bowie fan!

  • This is an excellent cover regardless of whether or not you enjoy the rendition. The artist took the song and made it their own. I thought it was Mazzy Star the first time I heard it. This artist's style is similar, at least on this sond. I happen to like both David Bowie's up tempo version and this version.

  • gorgeous cover

  • It's ok, but nothing to compare with Geva Alon or even worst of Bowie's version. Sorry

  • Both the band and song were featured in the movie "Home Coming"....was cool to see them in there-and the song was perfect for the scene it was used in the movie. Anyone know if they play NYC a lot? I'd pay to see em

  • this version aint no where near as good as bowies version it makes an uptempo classic into a sad dreary shadow of the original

  • freddie, i tried

  • Comment removed

  • I'd love to hear Florence and The Machine do this

  • @DavidLoike I wouldn't, radio 1 would play it so much that it would be ruined like you got the love

  • better than Geva

  • shes my cousin, no kidding

  • @emilypieproductions cool...get me a ticket to see them then :o)

  • Heard this version in the movie The Homecoming with Mischa Barton the other day and have been listening to it ever since. Crazy hot cover

  • @SPARKY0422 dido i'm obsessed with the song and the movie... love Mischa and The OC heheh on homecoming i also love the main titles song valled Capturing Moods =)

  • Simply the most incredible reading of a Bowie song ever. The original sounds dated by the production of it's time whereas this is utterly timeless...it may as well be considered a 'new' song as the slowed down, stripped-back, lap-slide-based arrangement is what is the making of this along with Megan Hickey's crystal-clear voice... at once very 'human' yet other-worldly. I find something stirring at the heart of this, and subsequently within my own.

  • @originaldivinylsfan Loved that she used the lap steel guitar. And you're right. Her rendition is (although I love David Bowie) better than the original. I'm a huge fan of this guitar, as well as the Dobro. Jerry Douglas is king with it. This cover is all out nightmarish, full of escapism. It's sad.

  • @originaldivinylsfan

i find david bowie's version timeless, while this more generic honestly. not that it's a bad cover.

  • love this! thank you for introducing this cover to me, James! RIP

  • WOW !!! OK, Simply Amazing,Brillant,Dark? maybe. But ohhh so Beautiful.Kills my Heart.and i too can not stop listening to her. Please Don't stop making music..Ive just discovered you guys and It looks as though you are not working on anything new or there is no more Last Town Chorus? Either way im buying what you have at ITUNES. Thanks for fufilling a part of me that I never knew exsisted.Mike

  • I just can't stop listening to this...

  • great cover! but I think Geva Alon cover is better

  • Nice - very, very nice. Great version.

  • wow, bowie makes me keep going with his song "modern love" but this version is a really downer.

  • And yes Everyone, I know, I spent Insriration wrong this 1st time, But I have an excuse tonight... Believe it or not, English spelling; Comp, etc... Were my fav. classes in school, The only classes I excelled in,... TKP

  • Damm Girl;

Don't do it like that.... Hey. Love the song, And you was'nt too shabbey either... The song brings back alot of cool mem.s And i would be willing to bet, You could be quite the insriration yourself... Get ahold of me sometime, Let's talk.... TKP Stranded in Misory... For now....lol...

  • Ladies and Gent... I kown your feeling, I don1t know if I like or if I hate it! The truth is, I love Mr. Bowie version and nothing compares to it, but the Last Town Chorus version is just amazing and I simply love it. But don't get m wrong, there wont be anyting EVEN close to DB!

  • Does anyone out there know the name of this Gal; Shes the "Lead" singer for The last town Chorus... She has a beautiful voice.... TKP

  • @29palms4u _ Her name is Megan Hickey

  • Thank you 7Jim3, I appreciate it.... TKP

  • I love it... I hate it... I'm undecided... I don't know... Folk's... These are all classic example's of opinion's or feeling's; We all have them, And many time's, They are "different" from another person's, Thank God... I mean, Would'nt it be a pretty dull or boring world if we all felt or thought the exact same way? I would think so..... TKP Somewhere in Misery, I mean Missouri...

  • I really wish people would stop saying this is better than the original. No one beats Bowie.

  • I really love Bowie... so I love his music. But, hell!! this cover is amazing!! full of feelings... in fact, I feel that in some point, is better that the original... at least for this time of my life...

  • I'm a huge Bowie fan, and I actually like this, which is a shock. Bowie covers aren't usually that great.

  • I love david bowe but i actually fucking hate this...

  • love it <3

  • Beautiful

  • sorry, geva alon does it so much better.

  • @sharonstonts I beg to differ.

  • ...heard it for the first time in Homecoming and it took my heart away!really deep and full of meaning. ..BEAUTIFUL

  • heard it on the movie "HOMECOMING"!

    really beatuiful song =)

  • This is an amazing cover.

  • i first heard the song on that diana last days of a princess commercial and i loved it

  • AHH WHERE CAN I DOWNLOAD/BUY THIS?

  • This is the best version of this song I have ever heard. I met the band a few years ago at WNKU and they are one of the nicest bands you could ever meet. I have been a fan since I first heard them.

  • Beautifully haunting!

  • totally missed the little richard influence of the original

  • Great cover. I remember this song from david bowie but yesterday I watched homecoming movie and I heard this cover and I said, wow great cover. I really like the woman voice and the performance from the last town chorus.

  • OMG! I did the same thing yesterday! I recognized this song from back in my day

and love this version! Love it!

  • don't believe in Modern Love.....by the last town chorus

  • I wonder if the accompanying video to this delightful cover may have a touch of irony? I think I might just marry a slide guitar, nonetheless.

  • Comment removed

  • That is a serious guitar solo. This is a great version of a great song. Actually better than the original. But the solo is as good as any Gilmore solo. Love this.

  • I hear the Gilmore influence.

  • YEESSSS

  • god I SOOOO prefer the original!

  • This is the version that i've been looking for, and i finally found it!

i've heard it once and i didn't knew who sang it, i know the original is from David Bowie, but this cover is awsome!

  • wow

  • i agree with coolscrnname, this is a really cool remake, i never saw this version coming

  • I don't think the 'shots of her face in front of the street thing' are weird at all. I think they're the most mesmerizing part of the video.

I like the remake of the song, and her preferred method of playing 'slide' guitar.

The video tells a very personal story; all of the close-ups bring me closer to her.

  • LOV IT!!!

  • i love this cover. Good work last town chorus!

  • Boooooooooriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing ...David Bowie kicks ass !

  • Very very nice! Thanks for that one - it is fun how you have been able to see the song in very different light from how it was first performed still being so true to it. I think Bowie must even like it.

  • he does

  • This isn't even bad, just irritating.

  • Her hair styling is irritating me & the weird close up shots of her face in front of the street thing are throwing the video off. But she has a lovely voice. Nothing beats the original though.

  • what rubbish

  • her voice is awesome and i love this version almost more than the original.. it makes me want to actually learn to play my accoustic guitar i got 6 years ago for christmas lol..

it is so beautiful and her voice matches her looks.. it is great. i just love it so much i can't stop listening to it..

    wow..

  • I got an acoustic guitar and I even played this song right now but it's not realy satisfing cause it doesnt hear that good when i play it!

better to listen on youtube. check out ALON GEVA version for this song. I think it's better...

  • pretty good, still i think john frusciantes version is best

  • Thank you so much ! Excited about seeing you at the World Cafe in Philly Tonight...YEAH ! Life is good :)...Chris K

  • this is my cousin megan hickey

  • slide guitar absolutely great

  • really nice song!

  • q bonito xebre de la pm

  • Excellent! I am not a huge fan of this era of Bowie but this is a great re-working of this song. Quite haunting and makes the lyrics seem more meaningful somehow.

  • Love this thanks for sharing Greg

  • well, i'm a bowie freak, but this is ten times better than the original.

  • woooooooo so BEAUTIFULL...

  • that's boring and banal, just like tons of other songs, the original one was powerful and everlasting

  • Hands down, the best Bowie cover I've ever heard...

  • yeah but John fruciante's version live at the Paradiso is truly from the heart...

  • al a Goswell?

  • Im A Big Bowie Fan.Its First Time Ever When I Think The Cover Is Better. Strange.

  • I have loved this cover of Bowie-my-hero's song for years, and never knew there was a video. This makes me very happy. Wow, this take on the tune makes you realize how bleak and hollow the idea at the heart is. It strikes me every time.

  • ..just the power to charm...

she's got it. ill never wave bye bye.

  • So sad, so beautiful. :(

  • someone else should of covered it like this, shes bland.

  • I saw her do this at SXSW in March 06 and it slowly came to me where I'd heard the song. Afterword she gave me a copy of the unreleased CD, which she was shopping to the labels at Austin. Very friendly, funny, talented, smart and beautiful.

  • just about to save my life tonight..

  • After years of the Bowie version, this replaces it in my mind. The only "woman's song" he has ever written? Guys don't say 'wave bye-bye', do we? Even if we're English.

  • I could not agree more with your statement. This is bringing it to a hymn. Simply amazing, one of the few times a second opinion really overwhelms the original. I saw Bowie do this at twice the speed like a race to get through it, Vegas Style. Bowie... a great songwriter and singer but this is art.

  • It reminds me of the Sunday's cover "Wild Horses"

    That's a compliment, mind you.

  • This is my wedding song

  • Actually I think this song is questioning the connection between love and religion or even questioning marriage itself...but I'm not sure though.

In other songs Bowie expresses his discontent about region ("Believe in the strangest things, loving the alien") so I think I'm not that far off.

  • I loved it =))

  • Too many covers are done in a servil and almost frightened way. This song is good in rare and honest delivery, half speed ( 1/4 really!) spareness and good sense of details. And not to forget the ability to do a remarkable good remake a pity song from Davids 80's catalouge. Shows he writes good songs always. Even if settings and productions sucks.

  • Go Brooklyn.

  • I love the song, but the video needs work.

  • Ah, that lap steel guitar with the distortion, cool.

  • Great cover of a wonderful song, but the video is a pity; its just terrible.

  • Heard this on XM over the weekend and looked it up as soon as I could. Beautiful cover by an impressive lady. It's good to know there is still good music out there by good people...makes me want ot puke thinking of talentless skanks like britney spears making millions and millions of $ for NOTHING.

  • i don't... this version has just lost all it's lulziness

  • Thought i was listening to rickie lee jones until i knew otherwise - excellent version

  • My thanks go to Jonathon Ross for switching me onto this beautiful track and Last Town Chorus for the performance and finally Mr David Bowie for writing such a classic in the first place.

  • D.B..Would be proud.

  • heard this for the first time on radio 2 today - amazing

  • Stick to David's version

  • Megan is one of the true sweethearts of music. I keep her in the top 10 of all-time sweeties. Yes there are other delicacies, but only one Megan. Still, forever, and eternally. I'm always humbled by her, somebody to caress my soul, Megan. Anytime I can see her eyes, any video who will show her eyes, oh just crank up the distortion and make me bleed from the inside. Megan...

  • One of my favorite Bowie songs of all time! I always fall asleep to XM Cafe and its on all night. Over the past 2 weeks had noted really liking some new song at various points throughout the night. Confirmed it today on YouTube - what an absolutely beautiful, fresh, and "modern" version of Modern Love. Just a real gift

  • this is such a beautiful version of Modern Love, I was actually surprised when I heard it, I normally am very skeptical of covers, and modern love is one of my favorite Bowie songs, but this is really really well done

  • Love it!

  • emotional Ecstasy

  • Thank you for this beautiful and touching version of modern love. I still appreciate the Bowie version but this was awesome. I first heard it on the princess diana commercial and was trying for days to find out where it originated from. Well done! She has unique voice.

  • geva alon's cover is much better

  • you wouldnt think that this song would work as a kind of ballad but it does!

  • The live version of this cover rocks, has a little more emotion. This video is terrible.

  • Great band. Good song. Brilliant cover. The video sucks. Whoever edited it should have his or her head slammed repeatedly in a door.

  • I love Modern Love by Bowie and I thought I wouldnt like this but Its awesome.

  • Great cover. Terrible video. Whoever did that manic editing should be fired.

  • Arrgh, way too fast cutting for this tempo of song. I'm gonna keep the audio going and tab over to some other internet page. Bad call in the editing!

  • Interesting

  • She made a remake into an original!

  • well said

  • I love you.

  • maybe that's what you call this thing we have - Modern Love?

  • If modern love is sharing comments on you tube we should all go out and shoot ourselves. It's time for the apes to rule the world.

  • ♥ Megan ♥

  • not bad
