OMG, using the same clue "captain" three times (once by the opposing team) and then going back to "ship" for the second time. I think that is what was going through Bob's mind when he finally came up with "skipper" (covering his face with hand). Bob could only come out with "fool.........me", emphasis on "fool" with the second last answer.

That is answered at the end of the game when both Ludden and Denver make references to Gilligan through how many times he had to say that word in the past and Gilligan's trademarked yell "Skiiiiiiiper!!!!" (Gilligan's Island ended in 1967 and this appears to be in 1970's).

The original TV series for GILLIGAN'S ISLAND ran from 1964 to 1967 (the movie sequels took place in the 70's and 80's). This episode of PASSWORD ALL-STARS aired in 1966 during Gilligan's run. Does that help?

I prefer Allen Ludden MUCH more than any of the other hosts. He was kind of stuck on the game, but that was his job. He did it very well, and he was always very polite and nice to everyone. He did loosen up sometimes, especially when his wife was on the show. I think he was the best host!!! :)
