  • These contestants are idiots!

  • Rest in peace Bob we love you!!!

  • "Jonas?......"

  • If he said "little Buddy" Bob would have gotten it

  • Alan Ludden kinda seems a bit irritable.

  • classic :)

  • Skiiiiiiiiiiiiiiippeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

Skipper from penguins of madagascar xDDDD !!!

  • Shows the innocence of America back then. Could anyone get away with a partner like Bob Denver's today? OMG, using the same clue "captain" three times (once by the opposing team) and then going back to "ship" for the second time. I think that is what was going through Bob's mind when he finally came up with "skipper" (covering his face with hand). Bob could only come out with "fool.........me", emphasis on "fool" with the second last answer.

  • This looks to be about 40 years ago.

  • Bob Denver's partner is a knuckle head! He should have said "Alan Hale"!!!!!!

  • Love the look on his face when he finally gets it. :)

  • The blonde chick is a cutie. I wonder if she's still young.

  • Wow, the host gave it away if you think about it when he said "Gilligan's Navy" at around 1:24. That was almost as blatant as at least a couple of Burt Convy's infamous moments. Thanks for the upload though.

  • Body language makes it look setup to me.

  • Maybe they could have said, 'credits', 'before', 'millionaire' -- for the opening credits of Gilligan's Island?

  • who is that beautiful blonde?

  • finally i can hear his sexy ass voice........bobs that is.....especially sounds sexy when he says "ships captain"

  • why is the sound not working?.....hello........i want to hear his sexy ass voice.....darnit :)

  • I don't think Password allowed names to be used as clues.

  • @rwagoner They did not buzz "McHale".

  • RIP Bob Denver..... i luv u!

  • Someone must have caught this already. The word went from 8 points to 7 points to 7 points again (mistake at 1:14), to 5 points, etc.

  • I didn't think Bob Denver was lanything like Gilligan until I saw this. LOL

  • Without even looking at the top comments, my first reaction was, "The guy said, "GILLIGAN!' " DUH!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Boy , did Gilligan feel foolish

  • CAPTAIN CRUNCH

  • the blonde in pink is gorgeous, Why don't women look like that anymore? I guess I just have something for cleft chins on girls

  • @avdiz Yes that blonde lady is out of this world!

  • Host is a dufus!! Too serious!!

  • @tnmusicman1 Watch it that is Alan Ludden you write of! Betty White's favorite husband!

  • Funny stuff..Bob was awesome..sound alikes are the way to go though..one clue then next a sound alike

  • It probably threw them off even further when the contestant said "McHale" as a clue. The Skipper was played by Hale - Alan Hale, Jr.

  • GILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLIGAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh wow the host was such a serious authoritarian!

  • wtf, guy gives the same two clues like 6 times.

  • I never realized that the skippers real last name was Hale and there was McHales Navy in the 60's. He was skipper on the wrong show.

  • LSD?

  • gilliagan was suffering from post traumatic stress and is still unable to recall most events regarding his years stranded on the island.

it is amazing he still say the word skipper.

  • Skipper if showed on Million Dollar Password (The 2008 version it may more easy!

  • @Gnillob802 Except this is the 1960s.

  • Easy clues: Professor, Ginger... he'd have figured out the pattern by then..

  • bob denver was a mail man once

  • took him awile

  • lmao With things like helmsmen, I had totally forgotten what they were going for and thinking of Star Trek. I'm guessing the reason they didn't say Gilligan is because they couldn't use names or proper nouns as clues. But that's just my guess.

  • @TekelBrighteyes Rule was no proper names and that would've pretty much given it away flat out. It was harder because of Denver being there - Gilligan would be an easy connotation and therefore a potential cheat. True, the opponent may have made the connotation, but it still wouldn't have been as fair.

  • GILLIGAN!!!

  • Too funny - it was so obvious he couldn't see it! Loved Bob Denver, such a wonderful, talented and gentle man. Thanks for the clip, very entertaining.

  • The truth is Bob Denver was a very well read individual, and if I'm not mistaken he had a degree in History. True, the use of the password "Gilligannnn" probably would have gotten the answer of "Skipper".

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr Now he is history.

  • @tryithere I think you're remark of "Now he is history" about Bob Denver is rude and thoughtless. The man is deceased, and he brought laughter to millions of people, and Bob Denver was a genius. RIP Bob.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr If you think Bob Denver was a genius then you must be a constany short bus rider.

  • @tryithere Bob Denver was a comedic genius. You're a neanderthal. Here's what on your page. Someone wrote "Yo dick head. Go fuck yourself. Do everyone on this planet a favour and stop posting un-educated, thick minded, stupid comments. " Another wrote "Keep talking your shit, you ignorant uneducated fuck. I'd throw you around like a little rag doll kid. Keep thinking yur tough.. internet tou.. hahahaha" Your ignorance precedes you with your hate and disrespect for a class act like Bob Denver.

  • @Beautifulmusiclistnr LOL Bob Denver a genius, sure you don't mean John Denver? Maybe even Denver Pyle?

  • Why is there no sound to this video?

  • @Lisaann11 Bob Denver was just as stupid as his character. But the other guy wasn't too bright with his clues, either.

  • @Lisaann11 turn up the volume.

  • Bob Denver was actually a very educated, smart fellow, despite being Gilligan on the t.v. show.

  • i love Bob Denver. he was the nicest celebrity i've ever seen. a truly nice man

  • How did he not get it when she said "McHale"?

  • Dumb Ass !!

  • The reason why he couldn't get the word was because he was HIGH !! smoked a big fat joint before he came on the show.

  • @draculascoffin haha good old Gilligan!

  • I have the entire episode on DVD. There were a lot of references to Bob Denver's career.

  • Yes, the rule of the game is, only one word. Singing "Gilligan" on the SECOND clue would probably have done it.

  • "little buddy" is two words there genius. He should've just sang the "Gill-i-gan" part from the theme, because the next part after that is, "the skipper too".

  • I meant use it twice, say "little" once, then next time, "buddy"... But yours is a really good one too!

  • He should've said "Little buddy" then he would've known who says that.. Skipper..lol.

  • so who's the blonde chick? is that the movie star?

  • Skiiiiiiiiipppppeeeeerrrrrrr!!!!!

  • They did give terrible clues to Bob.

  • carole wells also appeared earlier with bob denver on dobie gillis during the first year of the series

  • who was the cute blonde chick?

  • What awesome clues...said "ship" twice and "captain" 3 times.

Gilligan is not the moron on that team.

  • Really? Would you have done any better with those lousy clues he was getting? The guy said only two words in five tries. Lol!

  • Gilligan smoke pot before this episode. LOL

  • what an idiot.

  • Having been typecast on Gilligan's Island can't blame him for forgetting...

  • Little Buddy

  • "minnow"

  • How about

    Giligan............ Skipper

That would have worked.... if they just said Giligan, I'm sure they would have gotten it.

  • Leader????

  • @MrsChristinaJoy

Ah yeah! Especially if he kinda sung it like in the song! Oooh, smart woman (sorta scary when a girl is THAT smart!)

  • @MrsChristinaJoy Or, how about "Minnow"??

  • @MrsChristinaJoy I was thinking the same thing.

  • Maynard G. Krebs R - O - C - K - S

  • You're right. I hate that ass! Allen Lunden - what a dick! On the other hand... Allen Ludden rocked!

  • 73chal., you're an asshole.

  • I would said "Little buddy" with enthusiastic face.

  • You would get zapped because it's TWO WORDS!

  • Oh, ;-P

Didn't know the rules, I seldom watched TV,

    knew who Geligan was though.

Ok how about just the enthusiastic face and wiggling my fingers like I'm about to say something? Or would I get zapped for no words and attempted sherade? Hey I know, let's turn off the Propganda tube in mid 911 lie, and play out side?

  • jeezus the dude could only come up with 2 clues SHIT

  • Anyone know what year this episode here with Bob Denver aired?

  • Carol's dumb as a rock

  • @hankklink

A pretty rock... but not as pretty as

MrsChristinaJoy! She's GORGEOUS! (And way smart, too!)

  • Why didn't someone use Gilligan as an opposite clue?

  • @Gnillob802 I was thinking the same thing. LOL.

  • @Gnillob802 When was this? Before or after Gilligan's Island?

  • @Gnillob802 Because they didn't want to give the game away. Obviously if he had said Gilligan, the game would have been over in two seconds.

  • shoulda said co-star

  • Bob is hot I would luv to bone is [now bones] bones. What a sweet man from what I see. I would love to be stranded on an Island with HIM !

  • Me too! Oh my gosh, what a nice day dream that makes! I've felt that way ever since I was a little girl. :) I love Bob!

  • Excuse me, mrmatchgame, but I have this on that DVD completely bad VCR-free!

  • Where did you get your DVD's?

  • Amazon.

  • little buddy!!

  • haha gilligan looks soo smart with a suit!

  • To bad there's 2 words in "little buddy!!!".

  • The male contestant was an idiot. He couldn't think of any other words? Island? Boat? Sorry, I don't like calling people idiots, but this guy was an idiot.

  • I TOTALLY agree. What an idiot. Let me say the same clue over and over, because that's for sure more helpful than giving other clues! And let me get increasingly irritated when each time I give THE SAME F'IN CLUE my partner fails to get the password! If I was Gilligan, I would have said, in response to captain, IDIOT!

  • Bob Denver was a very clever man. Skipper is kind of a hard word to try to give clues for. He got it when the other celebrity said "slipper." I loved the look on his face when he said "how many times did I say that?"

  • Classic!

  • Bob Denver and the rest RIP

  • The skipper is my cousin

  • really?

  • Who was the female celebrity?

  • Carole Welles, who was starring in the CBS series (66-67) Pistols and Petticoats at the time..This is on the Password DVD set recently out..

  • Mr. Denver didn't look baked at all, glad he finally got it!

  • RIP Bob Denver and Allen Ludden.

  • I wonder how baked Bob Denver was...

  • It sounds close to it, though didn't debut till 1985.

  • Obviously, on any game show, you have to have rules and Allen was there to enforce them.

  • i resent the fact that anyone would call Allen a name like that. what is wrong with following the rules, whether its a game or otherwise!!!!!!

  • That bell was from $100,000 Pyramid, right?

  • Nope

  • Considering $100,000 Pyramid wouldn't be on air until a couple of decades later, probably not.

  • I'm surprised the gentleman contestant didn't say "Milionaire", "Professor", or "Ginger" as ciues.

  • @QBCNetwork Maybe he'd never actually seen the show!

  • Why couldn't you use "GILLIGAN" as a clue?

  • Gilligan is a proper name and a legal clue; I don't think it occurred to either of the contestants...

  • Was it just me, or was alan kind of being a dee oh you see h?

  • yes, and many celebrities resented being chastised by Alan for not playing precisely by the rules

  • Allen always struck me as being a bit of a douche...took stuck on the game and the rules to loosen up and have a little fun every once in a while.

  • That, to me is the reason why I thought Bert Convy was so much better. Nothing against Mr. Ludden and Tom Kennedy, of course. Both were good hosts, too. It's just that Bert knew how to loosen up and have a little fun every one in a while.

  • Allen was in control of the game. The game dragged Bert along behind it.

  • I prefer Allen Ludden MUCH more than any of the other hosts. He was kind of stuck on the game, but that was his job. He did it very well, and he was always very polite and nice to everyone. He did loosen up sometimes, especially when his wife was on the show. I think he was the best host!!! :)

  • Who is the female celebrity with the blond hair?

  • Her name is Carol Wells, and she did a 1960's tv show.

  • I take it that this is from the first week of the Daytime version being broadcast in color (9/12/1966-9/16/1966), right?

Also, why did they have 2 different celebrities for all 5 shows from that particular week?

  • Possibly because they used to tape 5 episodes all in the same day.
