Natsu is supposed to be a cheerful, youthful, happy-go-lucky goofball who's also got a passionate streak and a love for friends, and when he gets pissed (I mean, more pissed than he gets in this episodes) he gets PISSED. What part of that is not reflected in his voice here? I mean, yeah, it's not the same as the Japanese voice, but still, I wouldn't say it's not similar.

@Fablebane49 As for the names, well, know that people have been doing fan translations for the manga far before the creator provided official names, and it kind of stuck. Other times it's just plain spelling errors.

For names like "Gajeel", it has a "j" sound in Japanese, which is occasionally transliterated into a "z" sound. And Jellal? Well, the pronunciation of his name in Japanese, "Jeraaru", happens to be exactly the same as that of the real-life name "Gerard".

I like it, the voices match the characters well (except happy, when he says "AYE!" it doesn't sound as enthusiastic as the Japanese version) and the sound effects seem better, everything fits so well and i think I like it a lot better than the subbed :)

@pokegon100 Because the other English dub, made by Animax and not Funimation, thereby giving Funimation no reason whatsoever to keep any other voice actors outside the pool of actors they already have, suffered from shitty acting that'd make even the most avid dub haters want to cut their ears off. Considering that dub was made to be seen by people in Asia in the first place, however, that just makes way too much sense. And as of today, both companies have the rights to Fairy Tail.

Natsu still sounds like a hotheaded, friend-loving, happy-go-lucky goofball, and Lucy sounds like an everygirl with a dry wit. Happy does sound a bit girly, but his later sarcastic quips make up for it, and his "Aye" improves.

The story is still the same and just as perfectly understandable through the dub dialogue as it is in the subs, and the minor dialogue tweaks take nothing away from it.

Sure, it's not as "good" as in Japanese, but how does it suck?
