Yes, many used swords back in older times and some still do, but if you are attacked by someone... chances are you won't have a sword on hand. Man, I would not go do this shit though XD

this is brutal and effective but if it was swords like the sticks are used in replacement of this battering of opponants wouldnt happen. the great filipino warriors didnt go into battle using sticks. haha. grappeling is good. it would be the first thing i would do with my jiu jitsu if someone pulled out a stick on me. swords though....nope. this was a awesome video on the realities of the stick(s) but its NOT the way arnis/kali/escrima ect was intended for. modern isnt always.

HOLY SHIT!!! and i thought the bruces i got from pated sticks did hurt! seriously even if there is no broken bones or worse every time one of those sticks connects it leaves a mark that painfully hurts for week/month. i am deeply impressed just by the courage it takes to go into something like that. these people wont be messed with without serious regret on the street. RESPECT! (for the great shown skill as well btw!)

@daemon7777 Es tut verflucht weh. Es gibt auch mal Verletzungen, aber nichts richtig Schlimmes. Beim Fußball, Rugby, Radfahren oder Turnen tut man sich auch schnell mal übel weh. No risk, no fun.

@gagakopf1 Dieser "Sport" ist eine Kampfkunst die von den Philipinen stammt. Dort ist sie unter verschiedenen Namen bekannt, Kali, Escrima,Arnis, u.a. Diese Hieb und Stichwaffen Kampfkunst ist in der Tradition der Philipinos tief verwurzelt. Die "DogBrothers" betreiben seit ueber 30 Jahren diese und andere Suedostasiatischen Stile und seit Ende der 80er mit einem minimalen Schutz mit vollem Kontakt. Der Sinn war diese Kunst so realistisch wie moeglich zu bewahren und sich dem Risiko zu stellen.

@gagakopf1 Genauso "krank" wie Motocross, Bergsteigen, Fallschirmspringen, Fußball oder Radrennsport. Krank ist es zu arbeiten, bis man den Rücken kaputt hat. Krank zuviel zu essen, dass man krank wird, während andere verhungern, weil sie zu wenig Essen haben. Krank ist, dass aus Wirtschaftsinteressen Krieg geführt wird. Krank ist vieles, die Dog Brothers sind es aber ganz sicherlich nicht. Aber was erzähle ich dir eigentlich? Ein Schaf sollte nicht versuchen die Jagd des Wolfes zu verstehen ;-)
