oh yeah, The Vandals have been a band longer than flux of pink indians, nofx, and dead milkmen. Those are all great bands but vandals have been doing it forever. They always name drop a band you missed out as an influence The incredible Dickies!
Yeah what you say is true, but the lineup that put out Peace Thru Vandalism and When in Rome(their seminal records) and the one thats been around since the late 80's are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!! I mean I like current Vandals, but should they really even be called the Vandals???
This song and video is almost nineteen god damned years old! Dave Quackenbush has been in the band since nineteen eighty fuckin five. I have been a huge fan of the vandals old and new! and i can say this song kicks ass. There are too many close minded fucks around.
upon further investigation......the new singer sucks ass!!! the vandals now remind me of the new misfits. Just a joke and not even a shadow of how cool they once were.
Oh man many great mojo's brew from these bands. I was at a nofx concert in minnneapolis (where I live) and el hefe had this stream of smoke pooling into his eyes where these troll bouncers were standing and he flat out stopped the show until that bitch put that shit out and moved across the floor (hysterical).
I will demand now, that you see "That darn punk" its a movie that vandals acted in. Great stuff, but ya gotta watch the whole thing to be satisfied. trust me on this one, funny.
yeah man your right i hate how people idolize green day and avril lavinge and crapy bands like that and when you play real punk for those people they hate it and they say that its just fashion punk.
i miss the days before punk was so commercialized as a fashion. it seems like so many shitty bands get signed these days and look so "in" with what has become the "label" of punk. yet so many of the great punk bands go unheard because they dont know the right people and they dont have "the look". thank you Vandals for always staying true to yourselves. i fucking love you guys.
the vandals look punk: usually they wear tight jeans and small t-shirts- kinda like the Ramones without the jackets-that's the punk look as far as I'm concerned. Not ear gauges and tatoos and nose piercings.
-actually the vandals have a song making fun of that stuff called "be a good robot"
-I see u left this comment like two years ago-which makes sense since there hasn't been any new mainstream popular punk bands since-I don't know 2003 or something?
@alkalinetrizzle yeah like these guys are just like wearing clothes. not chains wrapped around them, big biker jackets with society sucks on the back. they are just wearing a green shirt and playing. God extremes suck
Too bad stuff like this wasn't popular. Are you a metal fan? all of Pantera's best shit was from the early to mid 90's. Very little air play (I don't remember any at all).

@Afrosamurai532
new singer? you consider someone who's been in the band since 1985 their "new singer" ?
Isn't it more accurate to say: "I hate the guy who's been the singer in the band for the majority of its existence."

Im usually wrong till i am perky enough to investigate further...
From this point on in the vandals the members were Warren fitzgerald, dave quackenbush, josh freese, and joe escelante. Check wiki for more info.
ps, is josh freese a queer?
pps, Vandals are still my favorite punk band, because they combine comedy and quality sound,
ArcolaBridge 2 years ago
many great points......and good questions raised!
punk and comedy?
try nofx (im sure you have already), dead milkmen, toy dolls, flux of pink indians.....all great bands with a sense of humor.

What was your best punk show?
Mine is a tie between propaghandi opening for D.R.I. or nomeansno and D.O.A.
Still have not seen nofx though i would fuckin love to.
looshkin66 2 years ago
Jan nils Ackerman was hte original singer, he died suddenly in 2005.
The band was in the processes of forming itself if ya ask me. It's a solid group now i tells you solid!

Quackenbush has been in the band since 1985. That's 25 years. Not exactly "new". lol.....
