ahmmm...correction. Trinidad Carnival is NOT "latin-styled" in origin. Its origins are from the emancipated slaves imitating the French dances of their colonial masters.
@warahoun u said it all, but i have to desagree about the dance, the origine is from africa, just look at the similitude between their thances & any african dance, u'll see they have the same roots
@jayo2k I fully agree with you. it has long been the tradition in Trinidad (the origin of the Caribbean-styled Carnival) to infuse its African roots into any music dance or festival coming from there.
