@zachtuck2009 all reactive metals should be stored in mineral oil. everything from beryllium to francium (note, francium is not possible to own in visible ammounts as only 30 grams exist on earth at one time. even if you could see it, you'd probably be dead from the radiation)
Awesome! You got that from a battery... Lol. That would be approx. $3 of lithium you just burned, according to the current price of lithium batteries.
I have to admit that I was suprised myself... My camera often just makes a mess out of the sound, and an annoying sparkling sound is all that remains... This one was one of the better ones...
First time I did this I had it sitting on a soda can and it melted straight through it!

Whatever you light the magnesium with will probably be suficcient to light the lithium too...
