If I make $2 i see 1.5cents. So hes still on top in the end. The government spends money it doesn't even have yet, knowing that ppl will always pay taxes... just like a ponzi scheme works as long as you have new investors.

@questx14 I've seen other accounts that refer to a significant number of charities that were wiped out after having invested with Madoff, thinking they were doing the most good with their contributions. That part doesn't quite fit with your assertion that his investors were greedy people who would never give a dollar to the poor and got what they deserved.
