  • I Think the G Stands For Stands For The G10 Handle.. Just Ordered This Knife By Accident I wanted The CRKT M16 DSF Tanto (Aluminum Handle) But Ah Well Im Sure Its A Good Knife

  • For the price of that knife you could have gotten an exterminator.

  • @TruthBeTold2K please tell me you mean an actual exterminator and not a knife called an exterminator lol

  • I want this video on my S288 Plus unit.

  • @kirkbutler12 Sorry for the late response, but what does this mean?

  • Is it legal to carry?

  • @MrMonkeebalz Every state has different knife carry laws. All the info is readily available online, give it a quick search. And don't just take someones word for it, read the actual law/statute yourself. If it's difficult to understand (and it probably is) get help. Good luck!

  • Great review, nice work

  • @mattv88888888 Thanks I appreciate it!

  • nice knife I love the color - I own a CRKT as well

  • I'm sure it's been covered but, the g stands for g-10, the handle material. Good vid man.

  • hhhmm this is a very helpful video thank you

  • You can mount the clip the other way right? The direction it is in this video would concern me as I would probably use this knife as an EDC.

  • @tparks13141 Yes, you can. CRKT seems to be good about that, at least in this line.

  • can they not fucking make one in plain edge? i meant this particular model

  • @davism4a1 Not really, no. I would have loved if they made a plain edge version of my M16-14T, one that also had an adjustable clip. Unfortunately, that's not how CRKT rolls.

  • @davism4a1 you can try the crkt m21 model thats the only other variation they have for this type.

  • @dothisdothat321 it doesnt come in a plain edge either

  • @davism4a1 yea it stinks that it doesn't come plain edge, and the fact that the pocket flipper is not refined so as to not eat up the edge of your pocket on the opening stroke with tip up carry. the design could be more ergonomic also, that would make it more versitile.

  • I have this knife and let me tell you... it's a waste of money. For 50 bucks I could get a Spyderco Tenacious which is 100x better. Worst knife I ever baught. I totally regret it. It looks nice and tacticle but honestly it sucks.

  • @iHubble You'll need to explain your reasoning if you want your statement to hold any credibility. It's probably true that it attracts most people for it's tactical look. Is the Tenacious better? That depends on what you want in a knife. For purely self-defense, the M16-14 wins. For a more practical, functional design, the Tenacious wins. Although I would not buy this knife at the going street value, it does have it's place and it is a decent knife.

  • @niimo I agree that its a good knife for self-defence but for outdoors it's not good at all. The blade will not hold up for very long. For selfdefence it would be good due to the finger guards and the quick flipping action that will intimidate alot of people. My opinion is that it just simply waste of money but for some people it might well be worth it. It's simply just not the knife for me.

  • is this knife assisted when it opens or is that just you flipping it open fast?

  • @chevygearhead454 It is just a very smooth, fast, knife. It is non-assisted!

  • Nice review, the serrations are called Veff serrations, they're patented by CRKT, and they work SO well. The blade is super smooth too, I have the M16-14 SF in black with aluminum handles and that thing is even more of a tank. Very heavy blade.

Also: The 'G' at the end of the model number stands for G-10, the handle materials. If you get an aluminum handle, it won't have a letter after the main model number.

  • @jonthamo Thank you very much for that info, very helpful! Too bad those serrations are patented, would love to see them on other brands. And thanks for watchin'!

  • columbia river knife and tool m16-14 desert special forces g10

  • They do that opening speed and ease by Teflon bushings i think? that or they do put ball bearings in some of their knives but i think this one is teflon.

  • does the color of the blade look gold in person or just on videos?

  • @DCMWDC It does look pretty gold-ish I'm afraid. Not the best colors.

  • nice review niimo.good quality/price.i have m16-14le.alluminium handle...i think the LE version stay better in pocket,i love tip up carry...good knife for self defence, the flipper is the best way to open a knife under stress, better than spyderco hole, specially in a lock back knife and better than emerson wave, the knife stay close in a 10/15x100 of the extration, not very well to save my life...my favourite tanto folder knife is zt 0400 scavenger, assissted open...

  • @LONEWOLF3404 Thanks! Sorry for the non-response.. That is some helpful input. I think you are right, the flipper is the best/easiest most reliable. Personally I don't like the actual Emerson waves, I know they just take practice, but I don't feel it's reliable. Especially with the fact that I have a lot of different kinds of pants with different sorts of pockets. Another variable to deal with. Ah ZT400, wicked blade!

  • @niimo hi niimo!i actually carry for self defence 2 Knife...crkt m16 13LE with extrema ratio bf2 modify clip...very fast and fly weight...the 2nd is crucible folder without clip...all in pcket.easy to take, very large blade and fast to open with a rapid wrist torsion...

  • is this automatic or spring assisted?

  • @hottsauce808 Neither, it is non-assisted. CRKT non-assisted's are surprisingly fast and smooth.

  • @niimo thats incredibly smooth for a non-assisted knife. i might have to look into buying one of these. thank you for the great review.

  • @hottsauce808 Sure thing! Honestly I don't know if I would have bought it not on sale.. There are others that is definitely comparable competition out there. But if you can appreciate crkt's style/designs, cool!

  • srry wasnt listening when you said the price nevermind but wats the diamiter

  • @magicalchuck I got this on special for $40, normally it's much higher I think. Diameter, you mean the thickness of the blade? I think it is 3.5mm.

  • hiw much does it cost and whats the whole diameter

  • sfg= special forces group

  • i usualy only like a plain edge but those serrations look badass

  • 35 bucks on Amazon, it's about quality not quantity.

  • I have this same knife I paid 35 dollars for it on ebay . ive had it for about one month now and so far I love it one of the best knives in that price range and its great for self defense I love the wave feature aswell

  • @Woodsman126 It sure is a lot of knife for the price range we got ours for. Is the tab meant to be used as a Emerson-type opener? I tried to deploy it that way but was not able to and I am very familiar with the wave.. Ah well, that is awesome if you can do it!

  • @niimo you have to practic the wave feature i will make a video about it when I do the review or sometime soon . but I dont think CRKT can legally say that it has a wave BC they will sued for copying another company

  • I always used to stay away from this knife because I thought the handle was aluminum. For some reason I stay away from aluminum handles probably because I like the feel of G-10 scales or for that matter texturized handles in general. I feel like I need to add this knife to my little collection. Thanks for the good review.

  • @ekserchina Some variations of the CRKT M models have aluminum scales I believe, one even has Titanium. Anyways, this is not the best feeling G-10, especially if you are used to Spydercos or Emersons, it is decent though. I would have definitely gotten the black version if it was on sale for the same price at the time. Thanks!

  • on there website its 42 to 44 dollars im not exactly sure but know that its between those 2 prices

  • Msrp on this knife is like $70. I want one!

  • @yourwebgod1 Found mine for $30 on sale at knifecenter, I couldn't pass it up even though I really wanted it in black. Street value should be around $45.

  • o thats cool... it doesnt matter that much

  • ok thanks 4 the info, would you reccomend any crkt knives 4 survival?

  • @msully993 sure thing, sorry I don't know the crkt knife line that well.

  • i really want 2 get the other version of this lnife... would you reccomend it 4 hunting/wilderness survival?

  • @msully993 The tanto is better for self-defense and utility, not so much for hunting and survival. For that you probably want bowie or drop point blade shape. Other disadvantages of this knife in that role is the handle is challenging to clean, and the rust resistance may not be great especially once the coating begins to wear off. There are definitely better options out there for a hunting/survival folder. Maybe a 2010 cold steel recon 1, or an Ontario RAT folder.

  • 5 stars thx 4 review

  • g-10 scales is correct

  • I have this knife and love it. Its my favorite by far. The only downfall for me is that it doesn't have a lanyard hole. Other than that, its awesome.

  • @SenseiTucker it sure has a lot going for it, especially for the price. I agree, bummer there is no lanyard hole. Kind of ironic with a handle like that!
