Kurt wrote music, sang and played guitar, something that took two people to do in AIC. He wasn't as talented as Layne and Jerry together, but he did many different things, which requires some talent. I´m totally fucking feeling this. But I would love to hear it in better sound quality. I love to play this song in really high volume and it´s kind of a buzz kill when the sound quality doesn´t add up to the song.

I love this song. I can't believe they didn't release it. It's the whole enchilada when you think of Alice In Chains at their best. Great vocals and great guitar solo. Layne and Jerry could have never made it without each other.
@MrTufflong You're right dude, Iron Gland was just kind of an interlude between two songs. Although, I saw them live and there was a huge curtain banner type thing draped in front of the stage and the pre-recorded track of Iron Gland was playning and then out of no where it drops and they open with Them Bones. It was pretty sick. But yeah, could have had better than Iron Gland on Dirt.

@llHyRaXll you're crazy man, actually the songs you're talking about were the only ones completely written by Layne. "Hate to Feel" is one of the deepest songs in the album and in my opinion one of the best.

It is sad when you think If Layne had not been an addict. There is a possibility his songs would not have the impact that they have had all these years. He tried hard to get help. I know what it is like to be in the grips of a drug. It is not easy to stop. Luckily for me i was able to quit everything cold turkey and never look back. Lets just enjoy the music Layne left for us. He was a very talented but troubled young man.

What I wonder about is Laynes voice. Did he naturally have that kind of deep, raspy voice? or was that caused by heroin? Heroin sure as fuck causes your voice to sound deep and raspy as fuck

I'm 99.9% Dime contributed on this song. Dime and Jerry were great friends. Jerry was the one who convinced Dime to play in Damageplan. That has to be Dime on guitar or most certainly in the solo.
