in pve you use it to "save the raid" Like if the raid is about to wipe for sure, a paladin can pop that onto a priest or another paladin. This way you can recover from the wipe without the risk of having to run through respawns. Casting DI on another player puts them out of combat, and makes them immune to all attacks, however they cannot move or use abilities. Horde had Shaman Ank to recover from wipes, granted they died in a safe place.

From what I've heard, this is just a reenactment of a run they had done earlier... the first time they did it, they threw Leeroy out of the guild for about 5-10 minutes... Which explains why half of them are over-acting. And why the camera guy is running all over the place pulling everything else there. And leading to the birth of the famous lines("At least I have chicken" and "LEEEEROY JENNKINNS!"), in attempts to have a more hilarious reenactment.

1. This is a STAGED video set to mimick a previous event that happened to the guild in the past involving that particular paladin.

2. Divine Intervention was (apparently) bugged at one point where casters could continue to fire off spells while enjoying the immunity. Certain guilds used to abuse it in order to bring down raid bosses until it was properly restored to it's current functionality.

Going to be honest to you i watched this vid when i first started playing wow but there were some inconsistencies i noticed with actual stuff. For example: 1)using fear in an instance is basically a taboo, 2) Divine intervention removes players from combat and makes them unable to move for 3 mins unless they take the bubble off then they are dragged back into combat and most likely die.

For the record i started playing wow almost an entire year after its release.

Uhh, it's not necessarily staged. I was on my friend's Vent server when they were about to do Kara and they had something of a similar conversation: buffs, drops, survival as told by Omen, etc.

And anyway. If this shit was staged, the people playing would not have this much WoW knowledge. How would a bunch of nons know what [Attuning Shout] is, or an AoE, or a Soulstone. It's hard to remember if you've never played.
