Mr. Atlas -I used to race in "the dirt". Looking at that knobbed rear tire, i would say in my experience, that your only problems will be on wet pavement, not dirt.In other words, don't use too much throttle when leaned over if it's wet. Food for thought. Good Luck with Mexico (I was in Oaxaca in June), it's the rainy season now.
Maybe you could splice in 30 seconds of time lapse into some of your riding videos - it could really give people a great feel for what your trip is like. I know it's extra work but maybe onec in a while?
Just a word of advice, and I certainly don't want to scare you, but be careful when you go to Mexico. Keep most of your cash hidden on your socks, keep credentials on you at all times, always keep an eye on your motorcycle and bags, etc... Other than that, have fun! And good luck! =)
Cool timelaspe of you working on the bike. Nicely done :)
Did I miss something in your plans or am I just confused? You rode from AZ to end up eventually in MN just to turn around and head south to South America? Help! Enlighten me!
Where are you crossing the border?

It looks like you know every inch of that KLR. It will come in handy on the trip.
I see another bike there. Your dad must ride too.

Are you going through Madison on your way to Minnesota?
I live like 20 minutes from Madison.

It is a good thing that you are a methodical person. That trait will be a great advantage on this trip.

Very good, i think you've got the right idea about getting the bugs thinned out before heading to the unknown.
