  • Did some checking and Alvia Rey, 1st used a similar device as early as the 40's. Red Rhodes prob. used the early version a Sonovox and or Kustom The Bag, which only had enough output for studio use. Bob Heil is credited with the Talk Box invention, He gave one to Peter Frampton. One of it's earliest uses is Joe Walsh on Rocky Mountain Way. Jeff Beck used the Kustom Bag slung like a wine sack for She's a Woman off Blow by Blow. Hope this helps.

  • That effect may actually be a volume pedal and the musical notes for that. The Bag may not have yet been invented, The Talk Box was originally called and looked like a Bag hung on a shoulder sling. 1st time I ever heard it was Jeff Beck using one with Beck, Bogart and Appice in about 1972. But I could be Wrong anyone else Know for sure.

  • Merry Christmas all you kool kats out there!!

  • Talk Box

  • @tamspeci it's not a guitar sound it's a talk box.

  • @Cassiedoll2009 Well thats kind of what a talk box is, unless your playing something, its not going to make a sound.

  • They're using the technique that makes their guitar sound like it's saying "Silver Bells". A decade later, Peter Frampton would make it famous on "Do You Feel Like We Do."
