The combination of Richard Rodgers and Larry Hart's writing, played by the great jazz artist Bill Evans is magic. This was not written as a jazz tune. Richard Rodgers would have objected very strongly to this treatment of his music. Yet, Bill Evans has taken Rodgers' music and transformed it into something far more deep and beautiful than the fluffy romantic rendition which Rodgers and Hart originally concieved. Jazz has always loved Richard Rodgers. I only wish he had loved it in return.....
