The one problem I have with going to a public place like that is that after about a week max the power is going to go out and won't come back on till after the outbreak. And when the power does go out all the frozen food and refrigerators will start to rot and that might start attracting more zombies and no one would want to be in there when everything is rotting from the stench. And plus with the power out its gonna be pretty dark even if you have generators you still need fuel.
Here's info that could possibly give a higher grade to your plan first stock up on things u need before the attack happens not after I guarantee u over 3000 zombies are in the mall 1000 in the markets and 900 in the neighborhood u before the attack happens plan u r Escape ur exit and ur location before that u will need a bag to carry ur stuff like flashlight, matches/lighters, radio, laptop (to get info), blow horn, duct tape, small weapons and washroom needs like soap lotion and toilet paper a

And a blow horn might a good idea if you were on a boat but if you blow it while on land then its just going to attract more zombies to where your location. A washroom shouldn't worry about till after you have some sort of a fortress (i.e A military base [if they let you in] An older prison without all the power consuming doors and such)
I like the idea that you have there, but it would seem to risky to go to any retail store. I would get my family and friends, guns, plant pots(of course seeds and manewer) and different types of meat. I live in FL so I would go to Port Caniveral and either take a boat or go on a cruise line. Once on we set off to the sea and contact the Navy. I would grow plants outside for food. If we get caught up with any boat we can see if they would like to trade or join us in the surival.
@TubaInferno Ohh, sounds like an ok plan. But i think if it really happend. Cruise ships would be infected already before you got to them. And saftey would not be in large numbers, But smaller groups. - T

dude guys all u need is Food&Water and fire starting stuff and a gun like a lever rifle or a 12.guage shotgun and some bullets and shells now i have a work shop downstairs that i can make bullets and guns so im good on the stuff
i will use a knife for awile till i see a gun shop and get lots of guns ammo and other stuff look for ppl survie any where in a good spot and kill some zombiez
first go to canadian tire hunting supplies and tire irons all that good stuff then go steal a hummer and go to a municiple snow plow spot and outfit the car with the plow then go to they army base near our city and grab asmuch stuff as possible and by stuff i mean wepons.
then i'll go to canadian tire again fill it up with gas and get some spare tires then i'll just drive around with no goal to get too.
Wow, there aren't very many comments... Lighting would be an issue if zombies came about because who would be around to run the power stations? I think that I would be more interested in a flat desert area... near enough to a source for supplies and set up shop at a gas station. Use a generator and make my own power... solar panels, but I wouldn't want to be in a location that people would want to dart for. So no walmarts for this guy...
I love zombies! Dawn of the Dead was great! But if there's ever a zombie break out, I'll call you. I think I'll do a vid response to this. I've never really thought about a plan for it, but I'll start to think about it.

First i would get in the family car,Get the gasoline from the garage.Go to the gun store first steal some guns and ammo to survie at least a month.
Then go to walmart(oopss did i say that haha)Kill anyone that wanted to kick my family and friends out.
Block off exits and eat the stuff that would go by first
