  • Maybe it's not a goof. Hitchcock is a famous for his dark humor, and it's possible he decided to keep it in the film. Maybe the kid sees the gun, but instead of being scared, he simply plugs his ears. If you look at it this way, it's funny, and a bit twisted.

  • screw the kid... watch the first bullet..she misses

  • I never noticed this before. Funny.

  • I found this little flub the first time I watched NBNW on DVD, on a big-screen TV. My wife got a good laugh out of it when I showed her. Also worth watching is the scene where the airplane crashes into the gasoline tanker. Ingenious use of miniatures and models for the special FX. Only way you can detect the cuts between miniatures and real-life is by watching the scene frame by frame.

  • GARMY STRONG!!

  • oowahhh!!!

  • hahaha what a goof of that kid hahaha , he knows that it will be shooting, hahaha, why hitchock did not see that goof ?

  • When did the kid scream? I can't see this goof.

  • @lesgrimshaw Theres a little boy in the background to the right of the blonde woman and he's wearing a blue jacket. He doesn't scream, but he plugs his ears before the gunshot. that's the goof up.

  • @lesgrimshaw Kid didn't scream, the kid put his fingers in his ears.

  • @kehwa there wasn't any kid

  • @dontmesswithsqacky Except everyone else see's the kid but you.

  • @kehwa alright if your so smart what is the kids name? i still don't believe there was a kid in this.

  • @dontmesswithsqacky Are you serious?

  • @kehwa yes

  • @dontmesswithsqacky 2nd table on the right. Blue striped shirt with hair parted on his left side. A few seconds before the gun shot, he sticks his fingers in his ears.

  • @lesgrimshaw oh my god

  • It was actually a subplot dealing with children that could see the future

  • Maybe the kids parents were talking raunchy and he didn´t want to get scared for life, just so happes someone was also going to shoot someone. I say he was lucky

  • That guy turned into Elvis the first time he got shot!

"You ain't nothin' but a hound dog!"

  • @A55ma57er LOL that made my day. Looking that up right now

  • It's a well known goof up. Surprising it made it through the rushes and editing process. Possibly Hitch knew and deliberately left it in.

  • lol Ive always loved this scene

  • Haha, also it was funny when the one guy shot the other guy with the same blanks in the house later and the blonde lady walks out a minute or two later all calm asking 'What was that noise?" because it would have been REALLY LOUD like litteraly an explosion coming from the living room.

  • lol Hitchcock prob grilled out that kid hard for that mess up.

  • Probably used real blanks (dangerous) in gun. May have been location shot in South Dakota cafeteria, so Hitch only had limited time to do the scene.

  • thanks for putting it online!

  • Haha, funny.
