  • I think this is a much better movie than some critics paint it to be. It is a formidable combination of Steinbeck, Kazan, Brando, Quinn AND a fine cast. As for Jean Peters, the more I look at her, the more convinced I become that she was even more beautiful than she looked on the screen. Both physically and in spirit.
