  • Fantastic - and I've been trying to get the Spinners version of this worked out on the guitar for years. I'm not 100% it's their way but it'll do for me at the folk club next week! Have to suss out what I need to put up some contributions of my own...

  • Always happy to provide help and encouragement

  • I'll listen to you all night., mate.

  • It may take all night to get through all my contributions. lol :))

  • What a fantastic performance ! As an under-informed Yank, I've never heard this song before, but I absolutely love it. Great tune and lyrics...and you have the perfect singing voice for it!

Here comes more Yank ignorance: Is this a traditioinal song and, if so, is there a story behind it?

  • Hi

Thank you for your kind comment. It is a traditional shanty, and that I am sorry to say is all that I know about it. However, if you look it up in Wikipedia you may well find out more about it.

Kind regards from the Isle of Man

    Tony
