Nancy's diagnoses of schizophrenia has never sat well with me. I'm not saying that the doctor didn't include the diagnosis in his report and I'm most certainly not saying that Deborah Spungen made it up for her book, I just don't know how any doctor could diagnose a complex organic condition like schizophrenia in two office visits.

Sid burns her pants and she checks the burn than says, "It's not even on the seam, either". Had the burn been on the seam of the pants she could have reset the seam and fixed them.

@offamychain Nancy actually tore her pants there.She would put on weight (no, she was not fat) and constantly needed her pants altered.Glen Matlock discusses this in books and in the dvd "Sid !By Those Who Really Knew Him".Glen's girlfriend at the time was a seamstress and Nancy always went to her to get her jeans "let out" as Glen put it, because of her weight gain.They'd tear, too. That is what happened there.She noticed a tear that was not on the seam, so, it would be harder to fix.

The interview was a short print interview in the NME a few years ago, less than half a page with an advertisement on the bottom, where they ask why he cut the interview the way that he did (obviously this was whittled down from more footage) and he distinctly says something about where Sid burned Nancy's pant's and the bedsheets. I'll see if it's been posted online and send it in response to the great private message that you''ve sent me. So many people so many stories, huh?

Con't Yes, there's an interview with Glen about Nancy's weight gain in both the recent documentaries (WKN, SID!) Rich heroin addict syndrom: If you're not scratching around for the drug you get fat. Look at pictures of Nico before her death and pictures of Eileen Polk around the time she was hanging with Sid, both heiresses with trust funds both gained a lot of heroin weight. Once Nancy had Sid's royalties to buy her drugs she packed on the pounds, too.

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so sad. I love Nancy's hostility when she opens her legs and says "Do you want us to kiss?" Then she's bouncing her tits around.The only time Sid jumps out of his junkie stupor and perks up is when he asks the camera man "Do you want to make a porno of us for 100 pounds?" Man...you couldn't make this stuff up.

Aw, boo... I clicked onto this, heart all a-flutter, thinking I was FINALLY gonna see the entire, uncut interview, but it is only the exact footage that ended up in Lech Kowalski's seminal punk documentary, "D.O.A." - don't get me wrong, I love this footage, and have since I saw DOA at the midnight movies at age 14 (and i'm 43 now!). I was just really hoping to see the raw footage--I guess this DOES seem like extra though, to those who've only seen "The Filth & The Fury"... waahh...

@lesterclaypool1 I'm aware she was buried in a Jewish cementary with Hebrew writing on her tombstone. She certainly wasn't "raised" Jewish. She didn't attend a Jewish school and didn't participate in the religion in any way. She may be Jewish by birth, but she turned her back on the religion fairly early in her life. Perhaps if she'd had some kind of structure, some faith, she wouldn't have been so destructive. Why so butthurt?

Nancy's family attended the same Temple until their Rabbi retired when Nancy was 15. Whenever she returned home from her vocational boarding school one of her favorite activities was attending Friday night services. Not caring for their well liked Rabbi's replacement led to the Spungens being unaffiliated with a Temple at the time of Nancy's death, it was not due to a lifetime of theological neglect.
Believe me, simple beings like you haven't the ability to cause anyone butthurt.

I know this girl and her family were from my area -- her mother's book is a great read. She came from a lovely family and had an extremely high IQ but was so troubled. People like this are sick and not truly evil. God rest her soul and bless her family.

That's a common sentiment when it comes to Nancy Spungen, everyone's first impression of her was that she was much older than she actually was. It's mentioned in at least 3 interviews that I can think of in the "Who Killed Nancy" documentary alone.

Nancy's diagnoses of schizophrenia has never sat well with me. I'm not saying that the doctor didn't include the diagnosis in his report and I'm most certainly not saying that Deborah Spungen made it up for her book, I just don't know how any doctor could diagnose a complex organic condition like schizophrenia in two office visits.

I think that the other children turned out okay because the first child experiment, of Nancy, was so fucked up.
They may not have been the greatest parents but they seemed intelligent enough to be capable of learning from their mistakes, hence, Suzie and David had a better chance of turning out okay than Nancy did.
Just our humble opinions, of course.....

@lesterclaypool1 no, I disagree. the other kids didn't come along 10 or 15 years later, there was only a couple years difference between them all. I would bet the parenting was the same for them all. It does happen, you know, that one kid just turns out fucked up, no matter what the parents do or don't do.
