if this is as bad as a few trolls here are making it out to be, I am curious as to why you are watching it? I avoid things I dislike personally. I think this young guy has a good handle on DP and is obviously helping out quite a few people who watch this with over 138,000 views to date. Go play with your Guitar Hero or something please...
Hey guys a couple of points on this vid, The title of the video is "how to use" it goes through the motion of how it is done, a demonstration. not necessarily "I'm going to fix this audio track". So from the point of "How to use" it is fine.
For those that don't know, Motu pitch correction is licensed from Melodyne and makes it a great value way to get this plugin.
HAHAHA I own and know how to use Auto-tune correctly I have used it on quite a few bands. Just so everyone knows.
When you auto-tune you still have to actually be able to sing for it to sound natural......and if you find that you cant sing that well a nice way of making it sound more natural while still having it fixed is to mix the auto-tuned version with a copy of the original.
REAL Pitch correcting is not simple at all it takes time to do it right.
Because of this video, my vocals are able to still sound great and AUTHENTIC with pitch correction here and there, WITHOUT THE ANTICS OF AUTOTUNE FOR THE SAKE OF LAZYNESS!!! For Real, Thanks!
Yes... DP is really good @ this! NO DAW has this capability built in and it sounds very, very good! Yes, there is Melodyne, it can be a bit buggy and it can have problems as a plugin within some host. Use standalone.
Yeah, the guy isn't the best singer in the world (who is?) but these guy's that like to come in here and rip people apart have NOTHING to contribute to ANY music community and they stick their feet in their mouths by the childish comments they make... DP does a great job @ this.
Have to agree here.. this is not simple.. running a high quality pitch correction software plugin in real time is simple. Though this technique to tweak the occasional area of a sample might be useful.
the voice changed, he was working on the sound "ex" in the word "expert". at first, it was wavering, but at the end it became steady. listen carefully, you'll hear.
I agree that Melodyne is better, but for a standard feature within a D.A.W. this editing capability, is very useful, if you know how to use it. I have used it, very successfully to fix small flaws in good vocal takes, and fretless bass guitar tracks. The pitch editing within DP has features this man did not demonstrate. Logic does not have this feature, although it has something almost exactly like Autotune. I like this better.
You started out trying to fix something, quickly worked out you didn't really know how and then tried to do something else. You needed to hold down a key in order to take out the wavering pitch, The fact that you don't know this clearly identifies you as an hack. Please stop making "expert" videos when your obviously unqualified. The entire expert village range of videos is the laughing stock of the pro audio comunity btw. At least their good for a laugh..

Learn how to do it yourself, before you try to teach others. It's that simple!

Wow, now you can be just like all of the talentless hacks in the mainstream that can't really sing at all, and sound like a robot.
