  • I'll never grow tired of this song.

  • YES!

  • noone was doing it in this genre at the time. killed it.

  • This cut is just so smooth =)

  • feels so good

  • Who doesn't have fond memories of this album. It's creativity and jazzy style. Can you even get this on iTunes?

  • I wish I still had this CD. Can't find it anywhere.

  • T-Bone's best verse EVER!!!!

Wish he had stuck to this style.......

That "gangsta style" and that Christian Cypress Hill style were both ultimately CORNY!

  • epic

  • DAMN.

  • sick shit

  • Fucking DOPE SHIT

  • flashback! just posted a couple more fos jams on youtube. just type (freedom of soul -- runnin thru my mind) in the search box.

  • @DJCartoon1

Looks like YouTube removed all of them DJCartoon, =/

  • dope look

  • I miss "El Shadai Festival", a Radio 93 program that had a big success in Rio de Janeiro in 1994-1995.

  • OMG!!! I'm so feeling this groove!! What a blessing!!

  • One of my favorite songs ever!

  • Amen! Lyrics are on point. SFC's Illumunation hottest of all time? I think top 5 easy.

  • dechire sa race la vibe

  • Thanks for posting these vids! This is a throwback to my jr high days. While my friends listened to NWA and PE, I was very much caught up in christian rap. I wanted to be just like Supa C and started writing my own stuff for a while. Shout out to all my influences, PID, SFC, Dynamic Twins, JC & the Boys, IDOL King, D-Boy, Michael Peace, Freedom of Soul, DC Talk, MCRG. The only album I've liked in a while is House of Reps by Cross Movement. Lately most rappers are too mainstream no message.

  • If you want something new with a message - try Lightheaded (ohmega watts, braille, othello) - their group and individual music as well. Grits are always good. theory hazit, toni shift, gospel gangstaz, lecrae, trip lee, pettidee ...

  • True that. If you've heard Grits' latest album, it sounds very commercial in sound.

  • I agree. Man what happened! I grew up on this stuff. Real talk. Lets get this stuff out there.

  • I agree with you to a certain extent....but yo, I also grew up listening to these cats (FOS), as well as the cats you just named...a lot of people credit CM for the origination of Christian Rap, but that's only because they don't know about groups like PID, SFC, ETW, Stephen Wiley, Mike-E, Mike Peace....I mean, the list goes on!!!

  • YES IT"S TRUE!!!!!!!!!!

  • man brings back memories, especially being backsliden for 6years , and i come back and hear, and then its hard to get, the old school holy hip hop, ssmob, dynamic twins

  • hey man, i've been backsliding for a while but came back to Christ. if you ever wanna talk...just message me. i'm really into holy hip hop too... i know a few you could check out...

  • Actually T-Bone's very first song he guest appeared on was with a group called JC & the boys and a song entitled " Whatcha gonna do?" then hooked up with JC Crew and did "I can't Schleep"

  • I'd like to be able to hear that song if it's available, Whatcha Gonna Do that is.

  • this is 94... i was 11

  • Peace 586 and Cartoon...Man they was dope! Christan rap has come many miles since J.C. and the boyz. What ever happened to P.I.D.?

  • Someone mentioned on the music video on here from P.I.D. that Kevin Lynch(the DJ) became a Muslim. In the late 90's after P.I.D. split, both Barry G and Fred Lynch released a solo album or 2 a piece, and in 1998 KMG Records released a Best of from the group. That's all I've heard from them since then.

  • well P.I.D (Preachers In Disguise)consisted of Fred Lynch , Barry G. ,King Solomon J, & K-mack the Knife / Kevin Lynch (DJ) came out with about 3 or 4 albums then changed their name to "Preachas" and released "Violent Playgrounds" then they broke up (Kevin Lynch did become a Muslim unfortunately--note: in one song they did --" I'm not a muslim , but i cool wit em" ) Fred Lynch and Barry G released solo albums and dissappeared from Holy Hip Hop.

  • UPDATE; Just found out that Fred Lynch has released a new project --he has a performance on here from last yr promotin it

  • I knew all that actually. I'm just wondering if Fred and Barry could do a reunion show with a different DJ, like DJ Essence or maybe borrow KJ52's DJ for a show if Kevin's still a Muslim.

  • last i heard kevin was still a 5 percenter (google "five percenter muslim" if you're not familiar with that group.) just pray for the guy and hope he goes back to earlier beliefs.

  • Man you just said what I've been thinking for years. miss the original PID.

  • Also, to fully respect the origins of Christian rap, you have to turn the clocks back to 1985 when the first Christian rap demo ever released was by Steven Wiley. Michael Peace released the first full length Christian rap album in 1987 titled "RRRock it Right." Groups like P.I.D., DC Talk, SFC, and JC and the Boyz followed, and so on.

  • Steven Wiley.....Wow! Haven't heard that name in Yeeeaaarrss! I used to have Peace's first album (cassette tape) Don't remember much about it except the fact that I thought it Sucked!! Even waaay back then. I remember a song on that tape about abortion........That's about it.

  • bananas!

  • man i had the first album caught in a land of time it was craaaazy!!!

  • Yeah I remember when Caught In A Land Of Time came out, and I was blown away. They raised the bar with that one.

  • Im very proud to say that the Hip Hop culture is finaly represented on the web.

    All headz recognize

  • This is true old school Hip-Hop at its best! "Holy" Hip-Hop as the saying went.

  • You brought me back! Great song from back in the day. The Sup C (Sup the Chemist) breakdown is the best-C Mode Fizzunk!

  • sup's verse was hot but i like t-bone's the best. i think this was the first time t-bone was recorded on a major recording. but they're all dope!

  • Try to look up JC Crew's album Serious Bizness[I bought the tape while it was still in stores], which was released in 1991. T-Bone guest rapped on their song "I Can't Schleep" under the name MC T-Bone. He released his debut Redeemed Hoodlum (as T-Bone) in 1993, and then guested on Freedom of Soul's track Sooner or Later in 1994.
