  • Bravo GuitarRomancer, another 5 star performance!

  • I think the only Reis I'm familiar with is Se Ela Preguntar, but this is really a beautiful piece too! Your interpretation on this and all of your videos show you to be a musician with great soul -- and a heck of a player, too!

  • Great piece played wonderfully!

  • Wonderful playing! Thank you! Of course 5*****

  • Wonderful, played with so much feeling! Thank Your for sharing this great music. 5 Stars *****

  • Brillient reminded me of hot sunny days in spain. never heard pieces by Reis befor i will have to get this piece

  • hey thx for the info on the piece thanx guitarromancer..u played beautiful ^^ Arigato gozaimasu...ganbate~!!

  • That sounded like Chopin's Piano Concerto.

  • I'm a classical guitarist myself, and you played beautifully. This is my first time listening to the composer.

    Cheers,

    -Tim-

  • Hi dinotim88, Thank you very much for the kind words, I appreciate them very much! I'm very glad that I introduced you to Dilermando Reis' music. There's a lot of Reis music on YouTube- Check out my other video of his most famous waltz "Se Ela Perguntar" Cheers, GR

  • Hi dinotim88, Yes, very good! It's almost exactly the same phrase as the Chopin Concerto #1 in E minor Op.111. Reis was very influenced by the classical romantic composers especially Chopin. He wrote a bunch of waltzes like Chopin did most of them very melancholic with authentic Braziilian "Saudade" feeling. Thanks, GR

  • Beautiful piece, and beautiful playing once again. I can tell you're a very passionate and sensitive musician.

I really like this piece. Is it published in the Reis' guitar works volume 1 or 2 on GSP's catalog?

  • It's beautiful; with'vibrato'you've made it so much more expresive!

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Hi ARANJUEZCM, Thanks very much, glad you appreciate my vibrato, I am very influenced by the recordings of Dilermando Reis himself. He used to play on a steel string acoustic guitar and he used a very intense and soulful vibrato which made his phrasing of melodies sound very unique. He had an original beautiful style of playing. He is one of Brazil's greatest guitarists and they have many great players in their musical history. Thanks again! Best, GR

  • Moving. Beautiful piece, beautiful performance. Thanks for sharing these wonderful videos. -mitch

  • Hello RFeynman, Thank you so much, I appreciate your words very much. They give me a lot of encouragement. Best to you, GR

  • Thanks Bobby!! All my best, GR

  • The sound of my dream.

    Your a really good guitarist.

  • Hello Marc, Thanks so much, I'm very honored by your words. Regards, GR

  • This is very a touching piece... I like the selection of music pieces that you play.

    Bravo ! :-)

  • Hey Fabjan, Thanks very much, I'm glad that you like this piece, Reis is a wonderful composer. Best, GR

  • So well played, You bring out the life of that one. Nice taste in music.

  • Hi wigleboy, Thank you so much for your generous comments, much appreciated! I was looking at your profile and favorite videos and I see you have good taste too, I also love Vicente Amigo, the guy's a serious genius and totally great flamenco artist! Thanks again, GR

  • You really need to get yourself an agent, a recording studio & put your talent out there on CD. Nothing against youtube, but I think you're a million light years above and beyond any amateur playing on this platform & this level. Very best wishes to you. Keep on playing.

  • Hi classguit, Thank you so very very very much!!! I've never gotten such a WOW before, it feels really good! I really appreciate it. Best to you, GR

  • What beautiful sounds! I'm very impressed by your performance.

  • Shimi thank you so much! From your profile I see that you love Reis' music, and you also play his waltzes very well too. I just checked out your website and I see that you are a very talented painter which is a great gift, you are blessed! Thanks again! GR

  • What a beautiful interpretation, GR!

    Impeccable!

    Abrazos,

    Julie

  • Thanks so very much Julie, much appreciated! I really love Dilermando Reis' music and hope to put some more videos up of his music soon. Thanks again. Regards, GR

  • That sounded absolutely flawless. You should have a recording contract instead of making youtube videos ... however, I'm glad you're not ... just yet.

  • Thanks Mike! There are flaws - just don't listen too closely! ;-)

A recording contract would be nice but in today's fast-moving technological world I'm probably going to have more people hear my playing this way! :-) Thanks again, GR

  • GR, what a fabulous performance! Please keep them coming! -Chris

  • Thanks Chris, much appreciated! Stay tuned for more hopefully soon. Take care, GR

  • Wow this melody is so beautiful and your rendition is excellent!!! We are all so glad you shared this with us and look forward to your next post.

  • Lalo thanks so much!!! The melody is indeed very beautiful and haunting, Dilermando Reis was a very inspired man. Stay tuned for my next Reis post coming soon! Thanks again, GR

  • Very beautiful and expressive! I like the tone and the dynamic. Are your a CG teacher?

What's the brand of your guitar?

  • Hello darthguitar - Thank you very much for the very kind words! Yes I do teach guitar. My guitar is not a well known brand or made by anybody famous, just a good friend who lives in a small town. Thanks again, GR

  • Very beautiful! Lovely tone, wonderful balance and dynamics, and so heartfelt. Bravo!

  • Thanks so much jeffretrac, much appreciated especially coming from the great player that you are. Regards, GR

  • Hola GR! Wonderful!! Your blessed hands make each piece sound even more beautiful. I'm your #1 fan!

    Hugs, EE

  • Wow! I'm blushing from such wonderful words! I'm your #1 fan too!!! Abrazos, GR

  • Great musicality, good technique and deep feeling. I would love to learn this beautiful piece but not sure I could cope with it. Thanks, Ivorguitar...

  • Ivorguitar great to hear from you! Thanks so very much for the kind words. You should definitely give this piece a try, it's very emotionally satisfying to play. You could definitely cope with it because you play Cavatina really nicely and that's a harder piece technically with even more difficult barres and melody-sustaining challenges, so give this Reis waltz a try! Yours, GR

  • Beautiful performance...I wish I could play like that.

  • Thanks very much Mike! Wish to play like that? I feel the same way about your beautiful video rendition of Amazing Grace. Take care, GR

  • Hello GR ! What can I say ? Thanks to make me discover this song and congratulations for your playing.

Keep on giving us such videos !

    Philippe

  • Phillipe thank you beaucoup! I'm glad that you discovered another piece that you like. Stay tuned for more videos! Salut, GR

  • Hi GR, Bravo! You really SING the melody. Well done.

    My best, Don

  • Thanks so much Don! This is a hauntingly beautiful melody that's difficult to play with the required sustain because you have to juggle barre chords and big stretches at the same time. There's quite a few notes I wish I wouldn't have cut off so fast - got to keep working on it! Thanks again, GR
