i Want to buy Sooty and make it exactlly like it used to be, none of this Sooty heights bull crap, i want Sooty to be the fun loving teddy bear that everyone used to know, not the dying out Sooty kids see today!!!!!!!!
I watched this a lot when I was younger. I think this show is what taught me my excellent manners. It has always been something people liked about me and all my reports from school. If only shows were still innocent like this!
actually think it was 'very very VERY very very very very...' think soo said it? she went to some garden or something. I really need to find the eppie :D
OMFG LMAO! I forgot they only made weird squeaky noises hahahahahaha. I miss this show. I had the videotape of some old episodes. I loved it when I was like 6 or 7 haha.
I want to find the episode where it shows a garden and this character goes 'lovely lovely lovely lovely...' for like ten minutes in the subtitles. Anyone know what it is?
i had this episode on video which i found in a charity shop a few years ago. the video was called sooty's restaurant and it had another episode when soo didnt let the guys eat anything they wanted and she wanted them to eat healthier stuff. could you upload that episode please its called "food for though"
which episode is it where matthew gets cracked in the skull by a custard pie then gets a pie on his butt then gets sprayed with eye wash by soo then trips up and theres this guy going like that funny and then matthew responds angrily by saying its not funny
@Adamandthomas1997 Yes I know, but it was Matthew who made it so popular. Put simply: Harry sold Sooty for £18,000; Matthew sold it for over £1 million!
@Adamandthomas1997 He was probably using the word "made" in the sense of Sooty's popularity, rather than the character, in that that Sooty wouldn't be who he was today if it wasn't for Matt.
Harry created it, Matthew perfected it.
That is why, Matthew Corbett, is the stuff of legends.
@denidowi His father created the character, but Matthew made the show entirely his own - he is the reason why the show didn't die in the 70s when his dad became too ill to do it. :)
@NPChilla Nevertheless, the word 'MADE' is capitalized.
It is incorrect. The father MADE the show.
To be absolutely honest with you, by comparison with the other shows on TV- especially children's shows, the father's version had much more impact and was huger by comparison. Sooty had more character. Too many props can diminish the 'size' of the character.
@denidowi You seem to be ignorant of some of the meanings of the verb "to make" - one of which is "to establish or enact" and "to gain recognition", both of which Matthew certainly did, capital letters or no.
Harry was also brilliant, no-one is denying that - Matthew made the show his own and entranced whole new generations with it. Just look at how appalling the show became after he retired!
@NPChilla Being an English teacher, I don't think I misunderstand too much at allLOL!
Did you ever consider that perhaps your knowledge of the exact scene around Harry's programme and his achievements may simply be missing your personal, living presence at the time? ... and that therefore, you really lack in true, first-hand appreciation re precise television and film industry environment of his day to be in genuine position to judge between the two??
@NPChilla I agree if not for Matthew taking over from his father and presenting the show, I dont think I would have enjoyed it so much as Matthew is top notch
