  • hey....this sounds good to me....I just started learning the piece.....I'm fairly accomplished...and ya know...it ain't easy.... good job....!!

  • Yes you can play blue rondo BUT why not play the bass notes and everything that goes with it.

I am a professional musician and all your doing is what you have programmed on your keyboard/electric piano

  • @lewkit1 I have no idea what you're talking about. I learnt this from the sheet music, and I'm playing all the notes intended to be played by the piano.

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought: "Backwards???"

  • sounds great!!!, even with the midi setting on your piano. I think it would have sounded better with a acoustic piano setting and a blues improv.

  • really enjoyed your performance, I also did a performance on Points on Jazz by Dave Brubeck, its on my home page, check it out if u guys are interested

  • do you have sheet music for this? I'd love to be able to play it

  • wow so many critics on this page, you done a good job considering it is a grade 8 piece :D

  • Awesome!

  • lol the sound is so carnival like on a synthesizer

  • Is it just me, or is that piano being played backwards?

  • This is the piece I have to audition to get into the Jazz Band at school. Thanks for giving me an idea of how it should sound.

  • i wish this person had a better sense of timing..

  • @jazzman78190

Thanks, it's about time someone realised I'm not actually playing this (or anything) at all well.

  • Whoa! it's so disorienting for me lol. I wanted to see your left hand... OH well. Good job.

  • I noticed a couple of mistakes but nice job.

  • Nice skills, great job. Love this song.

  • impressive.. i'm trying to learn this piece. on my first day:)

  • other than dropping a little tempo good job!

  • Most excellent. I love this song. I have it by the Canadian Brass, as well. They do a killer job. Thanks for posting this. Zee Zee

  • the videos shows your hands up side down right?

  • not upside down, but a mirror image.

  • Very nice, thank you, did this one in Jazz band in High School and loved it then as much as now, thanks again for the posting

  • i lolled

  • How about adding a touch of Keith Emerson to it?

  • I'd agree, if judged to a professional standard this performance could be described as bullshit.

  • A tad fast but good

  • nice work. do you slur the double thirds?

  • I don't use sustain, if that's what you're asking.

  • Bravo!

  • Great playing gdan! :)

I just think the movie has been mirrored, happened with me too when i tried to record something, hoping to get a new recorder soon though :P.

  • Is your piano reverse? :S :O

  • the image is reversed....

  • Reversed pianos exists, so that kind of "..." are not necessary :) Thanks anyway :)

  • they were as necessary as the whole sentence itself if you'd have looked at the other guy's videos.

    ''Thanks anyway :)''

  • um, can someone tell me what grade this is?

  • I've been told it's either 7 or 8. But I'm not sure.

  • grade 9 rcm popular study

  • Really? That's very surprising. It doesn't feel like a grade 9 piece.

  • excellent stuff!!!!

  • Amazing !!! My favorite song . . . and you played it so well . . . although a bit too fast . . . by the way, where is the improvisation part ?

  • I don't do improvisation. I'm just not that openly expressive.

  • very good job.. slow it down jussst a tad...But I like the way you play. Good strong job.

  • can you make me a video on how to learn this? i've been wanting to learn this for so long and can't find any youtube videos on how too learn it! Can someone, or you, since you are very talented, make me a video on how to play this?

  • excellent stuff man

  • Ah I see you have the Carnegie album aswell..

    Sounds great!

  • Great job! I love this piece of music. I played it on synthesizers at a german keyboard contest in 2008. You can see it on my channel.

  • that's a decent effort, way to go!

is there a mirror effect in this video? or is this a left-handed piano? :P:P

  • I liked the original speed you sped it up a tad

    Definately not smashing, great job!

  • This isn't bad at all....My OPINION is to slow down just a tad...but it's good nevertheless...

  • i think it just needs to played a bit harder, which might have the effect of slowing it down a bit

  • errr...not HARDER per se, but more accented

  • No, I see it too. It's backwards

  • is it me or is this video backwards?

  • You did Dave Brubeck proud. Great job!!

  • c'est quoi cette image inversée ?

  • Is there accents on those left hand and right hand phrases? It sounds like you're putting accents on those. Or is it legato? I've never seen the sheet music before, so I'm just wondering...

  • we got this marching band this year its aggervating to march to the 9/8 shit haha

  • Its actually very easy.... and yes i know what I'm talking about. All it is a kick step

  • yea i know wat u talkin about it was at 1st that we started when i was 1st talkin about it but it is soooooo easy now lol

  • Also, it's very fluid. Good job.

  • Gotta love 9/8.

  • great job- we are playing this song in jazz band- it is kind of different to most songs that i have played b/c it is written in the turk style and then moves to swing in the solo sections but is great good job

  • I think you did an excellent job...and Im a tough critic..

  • Woww!! Lovely!!

Inspires me to go and learn this baby too.. I'm going baby!

  • i dont care what everyone elce says here about being rushed and tempos, your really put alot of emotion into that piece =] great video! 5 stars!

  • Is that a left handed piano? :P

    Nice playing.

  • I love this damn song so much. Good playing.

  • I think in some points you loose the control of your fingers... please, keep a straight tempo.

  • you're going a little bit too jazzy if you ask me, at 1.30m. You should keep that part more straight...

    But still: well done!

  • I agree. It got a little too swingy there... But still, great.

  • He might be playing the Al Jarreau version.

  • amazing pianist!

    beginning was a little rushed.

  • Your right. Something very strange is going on...?

  • The camera was mirrored. Mystery solved.

  • something doesnt add up, the left hand is playing the right hand's part, but it still sounds higher than what the right hand is playing.

  • it looks like a mirror

  • Great job! Sounded awesome to me.

  • i forgot: long (and happy) life to master dave b.!

  • Long-live Dave Brubeck!

    Dave! Dave! Dave! Dave!

By the way, awesome video! You play great!

  • congratulations! keep doing it!

  • eso estubo asombroso, simplemente excelente, has caso omiso a comentarios celosos.

  • Yeah im just wounderin how easy is this song to play is it grade 4 standard

  • I think it's nearer to grade 7.

How easy this song is really depends upon how well you play piano.

  • thanks

  • see, if I committed myself enough I could probably start to play sheet music again, but I'm too lazy. I'd probably make something entirely different to what was meant to be played. Great job. I wish I could play like that.

  • Between 1:21 and 1:36, I feel that the rhythm was a little broken. The other moments are flawless. Keep playing and making videos!

  • i can play the drums of that song, one of the tracks of a great jazz album

  • blue rondo a la turk.... dave brubeck, bloody genius

  • it looked like the camera couldnt keep up with your left hand! LIGHTNING FAST!

    cool performance.

  • It is good.

  • dude, that was awesome. Don't listen to a single hater. It's one of my favorite songs, and you did it justice. Well done.

  • Mirror shot? Confusing right and left hands there...

  • No. I had already mastered the song so I invested in a backwards piano and learnt it again.

  • sarcasm intended?

  • It certainly wasn't accidental.

  • it was pretty good, I liked it, but it would sound a lot better if you didn't bounce your hands around as much, but overall it was good, keep playing man!

  • great! but watch out the speed! :P

  • I love this song and you

    play it very well =]

  • I like what you're doing, but the electric piano makes it sound like it belongs on a video game soundtrack. :)

  • It threw me off that the video angle is reversed and the highs and lows are diff. cam thing i guess. Nice playing

  • That thing at 1:26 was sweet.

  • Impressive, maby better on a real piano...

  • Nice! Though, if you're recording seriously on piano, and you like jazz, it might do you some good to buy a grand. Or even a stand up piano!

  • exacto, solo que honestamente prefiero la pieza original, aunque no esta nada mal la interpretacion, buen trabajo!!!!!

  • Wow, that's impressive!

  • somos pocos los mexicanos viendo esto... la mayoría se quedan en lo popular

  • yahmaha clavinova series nice piano

  • Super je voudrais bien savoir jouer comme toi!!!

    CLAP CLAP CLAP

  • Great recording. And for future reference, in improvisations, you don't need to play the exact notes Brubeck played. Just let it flow.

Anyways, great job. I like the voice, what is it? Sounds a bit like a celeste.

  • Very impressive

  • wow i could never play that fast! Beautiful!! Dave Burbeck would be proud!

  • Pretty damn good! Really.

  • that wasnt bad dude. in fact pretty good!

  • Hi! I´d like to ......the transcription of this theme, but I could´n find it... Could someone tell me where saraza? Thanks!!!

  • ...e l'improvvisazione?????

  • I don't really like the improvisational part, so I didn't waste my time learning it.

  • but that is the best part

    it's boring without it

  • Sorry I wasted your precious time then.

  • this was done in a mirror because it gets higher as he goes to the left and that is not right

  • Electric!

  • Woh! Man you stressed it too much :( Where's that elegance?

  • Trust me, if I had the ability I would play it with more elegance. But this is right at my limit.

  • No, it's really good and perfect; very impressive to reproduce the tiniest detail, and shows the highest respect to Dave Brubeck ;-)

  • did you play that backwards because ime lerning that now and it looked like the left and right hands were mixed up

  • niiiice!

dont know if im right, but are some parts just a tad rushed? like... faster than the tempo you started with. anyway great job!

  • Very nice, a tubular bells feel to Blue Rondo

  • Nice one ! Thanks for this.

  • Nope.

  • Feel free to make some sense.

  • wow your amazing

  • I don't know if it's the chimes but I definitely get a Gershwin feel from this. I really like it. Post more!

  • Erm...is your camera reversed? Your hands seem to have switched positions.

    anyways, great job. ^_^

  • Very nice :D Do you make up any of your own music? If so you should post that.

    - Sarah

  • Thanks. I do, but I don't write music anywhere near to the standard as I learn and play. Maybe I will post something in the future.

  • Awesome
