I lost my son on September 9, 2010 & his father on April 4, 2000, whom was a Veteran of Desert Storm back 1990-1991, he passed away not to long after he came home. My husband is in the Army and my greatest fear is getting that call... He's deployed right now and I am terrified of getting that call or in our case service men come to your house in their blues and tell you... makes my heart swell and my tears spill over to hear this song

My husband and I found out this June that he has cancer, it's a rare form M.D. Andersons doctors and nurses are just stumped.. anyway's you never know whats going to happen so my advice is this never go to bed angery at your signifigant other nor do you leave without kissing them and letting them know they are loved!!!

i sang this song at a karaoke bar in Rockhill, south carolina way back in 2003...the whole crowd of about 100 couples danced...after i was finished...everybody turn around and looked at me at the stage in amazement!!!! one of my "fan" who was sitting in front commented that.."Sounds like Tim Mcgraw is on stage tonite!!! they even forgot to applaude.....BOBBY.....

This is undeniably, 1 of the most beautiful songs ever made. Period. Not just for classical music, or R&B, country, etc. This is just a beautiful song. The lyrics are simultaneously happy & sad. This is the kind of song I bet even some....metal heads or even hip hop gangsters listen to it late at night, turned down low, embarrassed to get caught listening to it. Closet country music fans, or at least fans of this song anyway. :-)

Thank you Writerboy35 for your kindness and sympathy. Sunday was a very hard day because it was his birthday and Father's Day, and although I had no children by him he loved my two kids from a previous marriage as if they were his own. This song gives me hope because I know he is watching from the other side, and he has to know I still love him.

@southernsugar59 I'm thinking of you today, and I'm sure Michael is holding you from that beach. I want you to know that every time I hear this song I think of you and him now. And it does my heart good to hear you say you still love him. So often we try to put peoples' memories away because we fear they will be painful. But the memories are our strength. You keep loving him, and I'll keep praying for you.

This song reminds me so much of my father and mother in law. They loved each other so much. They are both in Heaven now, but I cry everytime I hear it. (a good cry) I can picture them singing this song to their kids and grandkids though. Beautiful song.

Thank you songwriter760 for your kind words. It has been almost three months, and I still miss him so much that I don't know what to do at times. His birthday is June 20th which happens to fall on Father's Day this year so, naturally, I have had him on my mind more than ever this month.

This song breaks my heart and comforts me at the same time. My fiance just passed away after a brief but terrible illness. The only way I can keep my sanity is to picture him over in Paradise still loving and missing me and waiting on me. And.oh, Lord, I wish he could touch my face just one more time. I love him so much.
