To clear up the top speed battle, since so many people here are completely wrong.

The fastest recorded time is the Bugatti Veyron SS.

The second fastest recorded is the Ultimate Aero. Given the same distance as the Veyron SS though, the Aero would be the fastest.

The Koenigsegg Agera may hit mid 260s.

The Venom GT will likely do 270, but it is by far the best handling of these.

The new SSC Tuatara will likely go 280mph.

@xatrag Sorry but the Agera R has yet to be tested. It is only claimed to go over 270mph. And if this claim is anything like Koenigseggs previous claims, it will be lucky to hit 265mph.

The SSC Ultimate Aero may have only been tested to 257mph because it was a 2 lane public highway, the 2009+ Ultimate Aero has more power and less drag than the Veyron Super Sport, so anyone with any knowledge of physics can see that it would be faster.

The Tuatara should go over 280mph.

The Agera R may not hold the top speed record. But if you take a look at the famous M5boarddotcom here on youtube you will find a video of it taking the new records for the 0-300-0 km/h and 0-200-0 mph runs. It is yet to be confirmed by the Guiness Book of Records but the measuring method was with a performance recorder which is officially accepted.

WHO will see over 220mph in their supercars? Nobody.

M5board is where cars are measured against each other.

So, the SSC aint no longer the fastest car in the world. Also, the Aero TT NEVER reached 271.78 mph, it only reached 256.34 mph.

Koenigssegg Agera R has some world records (= faster then the Super Sport). Only the top speed has not yet been tested (but they say +440 km/h, hope they test it soon).

Remember:

Super Sport: 1200hp - 1838kg : 653 hp/tonne

Agera R: 1115hp - 1435kg: 777 hp/tonne

So probably the SS can't beat the Agera R. Top Gear need to test this :)
