I remember my Dad describing this technique to me when I was little. His dad had made laces this way when he was in a TB sanitorium back in the 40's. I tried it with a razorblade nailed to the side of a block of wood but it never worked anywhere near as well as what you demonstrated here. 35 years later, I get to see it. Thanks!
Here in Mexico we make that only using a cutter.....
