this should be put on a CD or on itunes or something as an MP3. That way people can listen to this in the car or wherever else they are when away from a computer.
@CeltPerson the second verse is "when my grandfather was a young man, he bought the net back in Cois Farraige. I'd much prefer to burn my two hands rather than throw the net by the wall"
Go raibh maith agat as ucht an t-amhrán seo a chuir ar fáil don té atá i bhfad ó bhaile. Chuireann sé gliondar ar mo chroí go bhfuil an Ghaeilge agus an scannán seo le fáil. Maith thú.
Go hiontach ar fad,is maith liom é

I can not find a version of the translation that includes the sections from Bhi mise areir i mbealach an chinn and so forth to the end.

@CeltPerson
Simply type the lyrics into google and see what comes up. I found a blogspot with a rough translation on it for this. ... quite rough.
Here is my slightly improved one for that verse.
Last night I was in the "Way of the Head"
My fishing nets were stretched out/back into the sea,
But A hundred alases - I was cut down
When the dog-fish came and wreaked havoc on me
("Bealach an chinn" - "way of the head" is a placename I'm guessing - "Way to the Headland")

@PIcKLez9eh4
Google the name of the song, there are different versions though, but all similar enough.

@PIcKLez9eh4 She is your Granny, the hag with the money. Altan has recorded this on Harvest Storm, and I think they have a translation in there.
