  • "Everything's goin on" in this song. Makes me wanna sit in a "Dead Meadow" and just "Howl from the Hills".

  • 0:48 to skip to the song

  • dead meadow wants their song back

  • I think that this live sounds better then the studio version.

  • listen to this and then listen to dead meadow's "everything's goin' on."

  • Wolfmother actually mentions dead meadow in the booklet of their new cd saying this song was inpired by their song. I'm sure dead meadow got a nice royalty check for it :)

  • everythings going on is shit. whereas this is good

  • @conoro2287 you're tripping in a bad way, dork. wolfmother has nothing on jason simon's guitar tones and songwriting.

  • no i just listened to the original song and it sucks so your a tart.

  • @conoro2287 when i read a comment like that i know you weren't born yesterday because no one could get that stupid in 24 hours.

  • This sounds so much cooler with the keyboard, and it's so raw. I'm kind of disappointed with the way it turned out on the album, way overproduced. Still an awesome tune though

  • oh and SUNDIAL

  • you gotta like 10,000 feet that a catchy song

  • white feather, pilgrim, cali. queen are the best racks i also like in the castle cuz it has the iron maiden vibe to me

  • my opinion: every track on the album is brilliant!

  • pilgrim is the best song on the album too bad they didnt play it at vancouver

  • I think Pilgrim, far away, cosmic egg, new moon rising, california queen, phoenix, white feather, in the morning, 10000 feet, sundial, in the castle and violence of the sun is the best songs !!!!=D

  • In The Castle is the best track on Cosmic Egg in my opinon.

  • WTF. Nobody mentioned 'Far away'.

    So I will. Best song.

  • violence of the sun is definitely the best song on the album

  • The best song is Cosmic Egg !!!

  • sundial, definitely the best on the album

  • Pilgrim and California Queen.

  • california queen and white feather are the best tracts

  • White Feather's the best song on Cosmic Egg i'd say

  • i agree

  • rockband dlc for this week

  • Nah, it is actually called Pilgrim, and fuck it's awesome. In the Castle is a song on the album though, it's pretty good

  • i beleive this song is going to be rebranded as 'in the castle' in cosmic egg

  • I'd recommend Black Mountain for anyone who likes Wolfmother. I'd actually the that they are more musically skilled.

  • Thank you so much buddy!!...Great band!!!!;D

  • can't hear his voice for shit but kickass anyway... Cosmic Egg's gonna be righteous. guitarist with red SG looks like he's fake playing.

  • From Dead Meadow wiki page...

....Later in that same year a brief session with Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother led to the reinterpretation of the Dead Meadow song "Everything's Goin' On" as a new song "Pilgrim" landing on the second release for Wolfmother, "Cosmic Egg".

  • haha i was just listening to 'what needs must be' and reading their wiki and stumbled across that... i used to like the original wolfmother a bit, i've lost interest over the years just because you consider these line ups and it feels like stockdale might think he's more talented than he really is. meadow is awesome... for something like wolfmother that isn't as cheesy i recommend the parlor mob, a group from NJ in the states, they really get down and dirty

  • i think i've honestly watched this video over 100 times....i'm flippin addicted to it!! haha but wolfmother is definetly one of the best things to happen to music ever...and definetly in times where people keep using computer sounds to help music, where wolfmother just gives us good ol guitar soaked rock n roll.

\m/_ ROCK ON WOLFMOTHER AND ALL OF IT'S FANS _\m/

  • after listening to back round and violence of the sun, this one is the most proof so far that wolfmother has not lost their old sound.

  • They did a couple of shows, one in Brisbane and one in Sydney calling themselves as White Feather when they first played with the new formation.

  • the chorus riff sounds like Talk's riff by Coldplay.

  • To those expressing concern over the similarities to the Dead Meadow riff, for a time (not sure if it is still the case) Wolfmother was in the Dead Meadow's top friends on myspace. I know that myspace is for 40 year old men and 12 year old skanks, so who the fuck cares? But you would think that before the band (or whoever edits their myspace) takes the time to edit Wolfmother into the top friends that they might know a thing or two about these men that claim to be the parents of wolves.

  • WM and Dead Meadow have been friends on myspace long before this song was created. Andrew likes Dead Meadow too, he often complimented them during the gigs they opened for and festivals both bands were at, so maybe it just gives more reason to believe the riff was borrowed. And as you said, it's just MYSPACE for cryin out loud.

  • i can't wait for the album version

  • it would be sick if the CD version of the song had as much distortion as this video!

  • when the riff gets stuck in your head instantly, you know youve made a good song

wolfmother are doing it again! ;)

  • sounds like everythings goin on

  • I wish Andrew Stockdale would make his hair into an afro again.

  • when i heard that 2/3 members were leaving i thought "what is wrong with the world?!?! a kickass band breaks out from the rubble of coorprate idiots and they arent together after one album." but i think i can deal with this cuz im prety sure i just crapped out my brain after watching this.(opforce3) ya i agree with you but it keeps a heavy feel durring the solo and not just like 'o wait a sec we'll get back to the power chords soon'. plus there were some use of harmonics durring this song

  • they sound awesome, but does anyone else think the second guitarist is a bit superfluous? if he played lead, it would make sense, but stockdale still takes all the solos...

  • well, if you see bands where the singer plays second guitar, like metallica, pearl jam (third in the case), and a few others, it does make a difference. So, I guess there is no problem with that mate

  • Aiden plays different stuff. Like on the intro to Back 'Round, he plays a step higher than Andrew to give a nice harmony-type sound.

  • i still can't imagine anyone would be satisfied with occasionally harmonizing and then allowing the lead singer to play all the solos as well. i guess it's kind of like the quarterback of a football team also being the coach.

  • this isnt about dividing the roles in a band, its about keeping a front figure.

andrew is the only member left from the original wolfmother, so giving he the attention and role as a lead guitarist is very natural

  • Exactly... this is Andrew's group now. Think it's safe to say he is more like a backing musician then a fellow member, pretty much a pawn to help realize Andrew's vision.

  • The Andrew Stockdale Experience?

  • ian looks suprisingly like andrew (oringinal wolfmother era lineup)

the afro and the stubbly beard just says it all lol

cant wait for the new album

  • @opforce3 Or just think of AC/DC (yes, it's my favorite band...probably recognized it because of the name^^) without Malcolm Young at Rythm guitar. That wouldn't be AC/DC anymore. So the second guitarist makes a real difference...And some of the tracks of the first album have two guitar lines two, so it really makes sense^^

  • @ACDCaddicted Original Wolfmother was THE quintessential power trio. They did so much with only three members. The album had multiple guitar tracks, but that's true for almost every guitar oriented album. Just look at Zeppelin. There was an elegance and honesty in the original band that the new lineup lacks, even though the group is more technically talented and flexible. I don't dislike the new group or sound, but it's just not what I liked about old Wolfmother.

  • @opforce3 I agree with you, they do sound different, still good though. I love the new album, but the first just had a different feeling in it...

I know that almost every band used several guitar lines, even AC/DC which are pretty straight, with no effects and such, but Angus plays his solos on a third guitar line...so I'm completely fine with that, just wanted to mention^^

  • this song is sick as hell cant wait for the new album

  • im just about cumming in my pants waiting for the album

  • um .... WHAT

  • how could i make myself any clearer?

  • sorry about that im just have things goin on so sorry bout that

  • Sounds Classic!

    Nice Track nice voice

  • The silly thing about this song is whilst it's pretty allright, its a blatent riff steal from 2 Dead Meadow songs...

  • this song is tasty

  • AXL ROSE IS DEAD TODAY

  • Haha. For a person that doesn't care, you seem to take everyone thinking you're wrong quite badly.

  • We need something that sounds like zeppelin in this age of shitty music

  • omg..i love it so much..anyone got any idea when the new albums supost to drop?

  • Probably late late this year. Does anybody have a clip of them at the Clipsal 500 this year, If not any recent clips?

  • Led Zeppelin sound like Wolfmother. Co-incidence, different line up, different context. the FUCKING BEATLES aren't unique, because they sound like 50 other bands in the world? its a pathetic statement to get people arguing. They're great, they make great riffs, far better than you could even dream up, and so what if they have 'stolen' a riff off of a metallica song 95% of the music world hasn't even heard of...just give up dude.

  • shut the fuck up u pathetic cunt.

  • Comment removed

  • Kryptus, stop talking about yourself. We know it already.

  • Oh no, that fucking hurt buddy. How old r u? 12, u seem like it.

  • Erm. Ok?

Well you seemed wrong. I'm 17 if that concerns you.

  • Or more likely, 17 in 5 days.

  • Why does every fucking change bring along haters?

    Conservative asshole.

Autism is something that should be dealt with.

  • man i miss the old wolfmother....

they should have started the new band White Feather...

cuz they sound NOTHING like wolfmother...

  • I'm not saying that they don't sound like WolfMother, but I am saying they should go by White Feather. I mean it's not like they switched just one member of the band out, the majority of people left the band, so it's not like Stockdale is "reuniting" Wolfmother, he's just made a new band.

  • agreed

  • yeah wolfmothe was insanly epic!!! id rathr buy an album with a diff name and enjoy it than get wolfmothers second and have it be great but not as good as debut album!!

  • really hope they'll keep "White Feather" too

  • UHHH heck NOOO WOLFMOTHER ROCKS AZZ

  • well done, well done, i too enjoy heavily judging crappy quality phone clips that people stick up on youtube. after all, it is indeed the best representation of the band's sound.

dude seriously, no one else remembers the old wolfmother crew because these guys completely blow them out of the water. you'd know that if you'd seen them at sound relief, or at clipsal 500, or closing the mtv awards a couple of nights ago.

  • They stole that main riff off Metallica's unreleased song "Death is not the end" at 1m 20s

  • nah it similar but after all lars ulrich is a big fan of wolfmother

  • Yeah Andrew Stockdale isn't that talented.

  • Metallica didn't write that riff, it's just a bunch of quarter notes. Seriously, you are gonna try to tell me it's possible to steal a quarter note pattern? Get a fucking life. There are thousands of songs that sound like that, it's such a simple structure.

  • GET ANGRY ya fuckin dickhead. how bout mind ur own fucking business cunt. I dont give a shit bout ur opinion.

  • cool out man...have a marshmellow

  • lose the second guitar lol. andrew's riffs are simple and still kick ass, no need to beef up the sound.

    pretty good song.

dont know how i feel about the new line up yet, but im glad he is sticking to his classical rock roots.

  • I really hope they bring in someone to play the keyboard for some songs. It makes them more unique.

  • yeah they already have, it the bass player who can play keyboard same mould as chris

  • i think stockdale takes over key's in some songs aswell

  • how is sounding like zeppelin a bad thing?

  • When did I say that was a bad thing? Im a big fan of Zeppelin, i just replied to somones comment about them being unique....they arnt unique because they sound like LZ.

  • i saw the new wolf at sound Relief MCG was cool, But i liked the old wolf

  • I saw Wolfmother/White Feather at Sound Relief - Sydney.

I was very impressed, Andrew seemed to bring his vocals out and was less sloppy with his playing.

Though, I much prefer the original drummer, his fills were more interesting. Early days though

  • david atkins isnt fat?? so why is the drummer a fat load of shit?

  • fuck yeaaaaah, andrew stockdale just straight up forgot about myles and chris. fuck it, wolfmothers back and their new album for sures going to be to sick!

  • anyone think this sounds close to "Everythings going on" by dead meadow?

  • That was my first thought as well.

  • stickyickybassist - having just listened to "Everything's Goin' On" by Dead Meadow, I noticed that the main riff is somewhat similiar but I believe both songs are in different keys and there are some differences (i.e. the breakdown of Pilgrim) but hey, every song borrows from another song in a way - Moby Dick comes from Zep's the Girl I Love She Got Long Black Wavy Hair, which comes from the Yardbirds I'm Not Talking, which comes from Charlie Parker's Watch Your Step.

  • *Quick edit -- it was Bobby Parker's Watch Your Step.

  • i read on wikipedia that wolfmother has 17 new songs for the album

  • You should'nt trust Wiki :)

  • yeah i know i shouldn't trust Wiki but some of their statement can be true :P

  • aha andrew I meant, I was speakin to my mate when I was writing that. its my opinion man, I didn't like the old bassist and I can understand why they have split up, I like the new wolfmother. don't get me wrong I loved the old wolfmother, I just think the change is for the better.

  • I am sorry but the new wolfmother beats the old one by a mile, the old wolfmother wasn't cool, and the bassist was prancing around all over the place thinking he was the shiznig, alex was the only cool one, I am glad they have formed a new one. they fuckin rock. and they are all damn cool

  • Alex was the only cool one? Who's Alex? The original line up was ANDREW Stockdale, CHRIS Ross and MYLES Heskett. You obviously discovered Wolfmother very late, along with the rest of the commercial radio muppets. Go back to your britney spears records.

  • elitist anyone....

  • no, I knew that, I have seen wolfmother, trust me I am a big fan. and I can assure you I don't listen to britney spears. I already said I was speakin to my mate called alex when I posted that comment, and I accidentally wrote alex instead of andrew, people make mistakes, you don't have to automatically home in on people. I loved wolfmother, but all I am trying to say is I like the new line up better, what is it with comments on youtube, people just automatically hate you.

  • sounds really good!! i wonder which direction their going to take their sound in now...

  • Fuck yeah, this new line up is just as good as the old one. I cant wait till their new album comes out, Ive been waiting for it since I was 12

  • That makes two of us.

  • I was wondering what happened to Wolfmother. What a surprise. One album and now there gone. Seems only the guitarist with a new group with the same name. Very sad indeed as there were amazing. Seen em in Brooklyn. Cheers.

  • I saw a comment above that said Andrew Stockdale isnt a great lead player. First of all, I would watch there performance of Communication Breakdown at Led Zeppelin's induction into the British Rock'N'Roll hall of fame... "He f'ing nailed the solo and played the whole song beautifully enough for Jimmy Page to tell him afterwards he was "incredibly impressed". Second of all you havent listened to the first Wolfmother that well or not in the least. Lastly, you need some new ears...

  • i agree. he did a great job considering he was the only guitar player in the band.

  • Im glad there's a second guitarist now. no disrespect to andrews playing but he wasn't much of a lead guitar player. Im excited to see the new album. and Im just wondering, Is that a different bass player or is that the same guy? I haven't got a good look at him and i can't tell

  • You do know andrew was playing lead, dont you?

  • its not actually wolfmother for those confused about "new members."

it's Andrew Stockdale and his new band, as Wolfmother have parted.

  • great! sounds like there keeping the old wolfmother sound! I wonder if theyl still play there old shit too tho.

  • dude, he starts playing woman at the end

  • so they have a second guitarist now too i guess? or is he just for that show?

god i cant wait for the next album, i finally bought the 1st, took me forever to find it

  • they do have a new guitarist

  • y'know ever since i first heard wolfmother i've thought a 2nd guitar wielder would perfect wolfmother. it always seems like they had great musical ideas, but need a more fleshier guitar player. if the new guy isn't a great solo player maybe he's at least add some interesting rhythmic variation

  • still rocks

  • Now a better band and im glad they left.

  • they are a led zepelin rip, but i don't care, they stil rock.

  • Alot of people say

They are just a led zeppelin rip off.

And yes they do have a led zeppelin flare to them

But thats refreshing from todays crap "look at us were so different we right about growing up tough"

I miss the bands writing songs about gnomes and mystic creatures

    thank you wolfmother

  • oh another thing i glad they still have the 70's sound with new members yay can't wait for their new album

  • i don't get why the other 2 had to leave, they we like by world biggest artist, such as alice cooper, led zeppelin (they were invited by led zeppelin at the awards thing) and pete townshend from the who

  • I read tensions in the band were unbearable.

  • ja because the other tow membres want to start a electro band.

  • Who cares that it ain't the same line up, if you love Wolfmother then you'll love that they are back out there again!!!! And yeah it may sound like a throwback to 70's or stoner rock but f*ck me its good music so enjoy it goddamn it!!!!

  • these guys r beter than eva

  • Sure, get a drummer with less natural rock swing... Enjoy the new phase of stoner funk...

  • Well what do you know? Wolfmother with a drummer who is actually worth his weight, awesome ^^

  • how can you say wolfmother are back? this is just stockdale its not wolfmother the two members that made the band have left. to move forward with their music rather than pump out the same sounding albums again and again which stokdale seems quite happy to do.

  • actually they left due to royalties over the song The Joker and The Thief. Many of the new wolfmother songs were in part created while the original line-up was still together and it has the definite wolfmother sound. So better luck next time and check your facts

  • Doesn't change the fact that those guys must be the most retarded cocksmokers ever, leaving such an awesome band.

  • Obviously they weren't happy dude, who cares if you are in the best band ever, if you're not happy it's not worth it.

  • Just saying they'll seriously regret leaving that band when it grows up to the greatness of something like Rage or QotSA or something.

  • They are far too derivative for that.

  • For what? Becoming insanely great, or the leavers getting regrets?

  • Becoming great.

  • You'll see.

That second album will set the world ablaze (or so I hope :))

They're bound to become a headliner

  • Comment removed

  • it worked for AC/DC

  • Wolfmother forever!

  • fuck yeah they are back

  • oh it's been toooo long

  • cant wait for the new album, but im just glad to see Stockdale is back in business

  • OH YES!!!

  • finally.. finally.

  • i don't think i am gay.

may be you are a little bit intollerant!

  • i am so happy that wolfmother is back!

only the reunion of rage against the machine was better (:

    great song!

    * * * * *

  • hahaha, guess you'd shit if you knew who got fucked out of being the new backing band for wolfmother then...

  • 8 bars into it and my 12-year-old son Max peeks over my shoulder and says it all, "Oh my God! That's so going onto Guitar Hero!"

  • i like it alot!

im sooooooooo glad their finally back

  • thank god they're back, and more amazing than ever!!!!

  • you could be listening to the next triple j hottest 100 no.1 song

  • AHHH...HOPE IS RAISING

  • Comment removed

  • i just jizzed in my pants

  • holy shit i think they got a better drummer

  • wolfmother was amazing with myles and chris, and i would know as i saw them live five times.

but i was at this gig and the new members make wolfmother so much more amazing.

you can't judge them from a phone recording. they were incredible live.

  • I think this proves how talented the original members were, the horse is dead r.i.p
