not that I want to get into this, but the reason Detroit doesn't have high draft picks like Pittsburgh (4 top 3 picks in 4 years) is that Detroit didn't suck nearly as much as Pittsburgh.

if you are a Penns fan, you should be ashamed of how terrible your team had to be in order to get decent players. Detroit has to develop less talented players in order to compete.

and they do it very well.

@boudrozoltar man im a huge wings fan and i completely agree, they had crosby,staal and fleury who were first overall, then malkin who was second overall, like anyteam can be crap for years and get amazing draft picks and will eventually be good, tampa bay will be the next to follow the trend now that they have stamkos and hedman, it shows how ken holland and detroits scouting, specifically in europe is by far the best in hockey and even professional sports, to have so many all stars picked late
