  • Why would you have three Virtual Boys?

  • @Cloaytonem2 shhhhhhhhh

  • is hank the lab daddy

  • HOLY SH**! and I thought I had a lot of games

  • does this video make you feel cool, Renard? do you feel like a cool guy? do you feel like a stellar chap? like a hip cat, or perhaps a killer dude?

  • i saw kirby returns to dreamland...the rest doesn't rly matter!

by the way, if you need some more space, i just recently put all of my games in a cd holder and put all the cases in a box that i store in a closet, and it saved me a TON of space in my room.

    do you play any mmos?

  • I can guess who renard's girlfriend is...

  • @alpha1178 He could say he has a girlfriend in Canada, but he lives in Canada, so...

  • renard isnt you're girl friend squeedgemonster from deviant art? because i cant remember personaly xD

  • You better have Psychonauts in there...

  • 6:50

    AW YEAH

  • Omg I love this video O.o BUT WHY IS YOUR SNES YELLOW??!?!? AHHHH!!!! I LITTERALLY WANT TO SEND YOU A BETTER CONDITION ONE.

  • Questions:

Problems with power when all that is hooked up?

When did you start collecting this all enthusiastically?

Is there any system you DON'T have?

  • @XxLevelBasherxX no power problems since only one system and the TV + stereo are ever running at the same time from the same outlet. been "aggressively" collecting for 2-3 years, but have slowed the pace for the past few months as to focus on bigger landmarks. don't have any master system variations, don't have the odyssey, don't have the fm towns, don't have the turbo duo, don't have the etc etc etc - at least 20 systems missing.

  • Just an fyi Renard, Imma gonna rob your house soon.

  • Your collection is unrivaled.

  • Renard

    Renaaard

I want you to be my father

  • i want your collection.

  • IS THAT A BLUESHARK DANCE PAD?!?!?!?!

iMMA GO TO cANADA i CARE NOT!

  • DUDE. I NEED TO SEE THIS IN PERSON.

    Can I be your friend?

    Please?

  • I can only dream of having that much gaming equipment!

  • I see you like fighting games! You play Blazblue?

  • @thatcrazynerd sometimes, but it's not a game i can really get into because of the wildly different mechanics each character has, just not my thing.

  • @nsrrenard Oh darn, I was kinda hoping to play you one day haha

  • @nsrrenard Whoa, You Butt. I'm Jealous.

  • Meanwhile, at the National Video Game Basement Museum...

  • Did I see... ECCO!?

  • Quick! To the SWAG cave!

  • man dude your stuff is so retro! It's crazy. I though I had ah nice set up. ( Which is really Just my PC rig) Though all your shit. Thats Crazy. I give you props on thaat!

  • Do you get most of this stuff online? Half of these systems I've never even seen outside. The only other game hoard I've seen come close to this was an estate sale in this mini-mansion for a guy who I suppose worked at Atari back when the 800 and 2600 systems were out. He had a ton of parted out systems, a wall of games, a bunch of strange peripherals, and some unused microchips. An entire bedroom dedicated to Atari. Unfortunately most of the things didn't work so I didn't buy much.

  • @MisterShrike i do have to do most of my shopping online since Ontario is a bit of a wasteland for retro and obscure gaming, unfortunately.

  • @nsrrenard Hey is that Portland retro gaming expo anything special? Is it related to the Seattle retro gaming expo? I just looked it up and it looks like a fun thing to check out next year.

  • @MisterShrike it's spectacular; i had a blast this last year!

  • Awesome. Love all of the retro game stuff. I have a ton of those plug and play things.

    Also,

You should do acapellas and take requests. Your voice is fucking amazing.

  • I think you are the closest thing on this planet to a gaming god.

Also, I introduced a lot of my friends to your music, and they did some research themselves, and kept saying you were a 'hipster'. I admit, I had to google the meaning of that term, but the question I (or 'they', I guess) want to ask is do you consider yourself a hipster?

  • @Coltsuke

If you and your friends are talking about a gaming hipster, I'm gonna butt in here and say a probable "No." He owns the Wii and the 360, as well as all the old stuff, and personally I consider a hipster to just be someone who only likes old, obscure things. That's what I hear anyway. Not Renard, just putting this out there.

  • @Coltsuke nobody knows what hipster means any more and people just use it to describe things they don't like. on the same note that your friends think i'm a hipster because i'm independent and have alternative taste, i guess everybody i know is a hipster too! (they aren't; we're probably the nerdiest people on the planet)

  • @nsrrenard haha, I guess nerds would classify under hipster in that sense. Maybe I need better friends :\

  • @Coltsu so do I p.q

  • swag

  • I bet there are sooo many songs you made with references to games... I only noticed the one in "Sean Paul Opens a MFin Casino" without having to google anything :C

  • Saw your blueshark and immediately was envious. Mine has a fucked up control cord (not box) so I can't use it.

  • lukemorse has pretty cool videos. glad you responded!

  • No turbo grafix? ;-; Eitherway, god damn. That's the sorta collection I've always wanted, but could never afford. Is that what you used your profit money from your music for? Or is this all just over time?

  • @prjuni PC Engine = TurboGrafx. same thing, just japanese, and with a MUCH larger library.

this is over time, 2-3ish years of fairly serious collecting.

  • You have no idea how jealous that collection of yours makes me!

  • that is

    a lot of stuff

  • NINJA BASEBALL BATMAN?!

  • Should get together with TGS for retro hardware. :D

  • Make an xmas mix. renard!!!

  • I so jelli

  • @THEWHOPPERMAN1 me too ,o,

  • I have an old collage mate who offered to sell me his Virtual-boy (Apparently in working order) for £3 ($4.70), is that a good price?

Also, How much would you estimate all this nostalgia to worth?

My hypotheses is a lot for there's a Local Museum with a Majority of those products In a Bullet proof Glass casing and Alarm systems... Which is a pretty Critical Security measure.

  • @tenpinbowl12 if the VB works and has a stand etc, it's up to and over $100. i paid around $250 for my boxed Japanese VB, about $80 for my first complete NA one, and $500 for the one i have attached to the VB sales kiosk. just take good care of it, they're extremely temperamental pieces of kit.

i haven't really valued my collection but i've been at it for 2-3 years rather seriously. i don't like to imagine how much i've spent, but maybe 50 grand or so with the value being 70-80 grand?

  • @nsrrenard Well. I'm planning on buying it and selling it for profit to collectors like yourself. But anyway. the price is good news!

  • @nsrrenard just wondering, do you have all gaming systems ever made? or do you simply have the ones you like

  • @Poliumud i have a lot, but not all ever made, not by a longshot. there are a few not pictured here - Odyssey2, PC Engine CD, and ColecoVision namely, because they're still in WA with Squeedge. when i add a console to the collection i either have to have an affinity for the hardware (usually how unique it is, like the Vectrex and Virtual Boy, my faves), or it has to have a good library of games.

  • @nsrrenard yeah i see what you mean about the hardware. anyway, nice collection, wish i had the money to build a collection that big as well

  • awesome sauce

  • wow, just wow.

  • awesome collection

  • So jealous of that collection.

  • Good lord wow, that's a collection! I thought i had a lot of games...

also, I couldn't help but think as you read off your favorites that you were sporting thick rimmed glasses and a scarf.

  • Aghh I want all of this

  • Ah yes, Finally a indepth video of the collection :D

Got some pretty nice stuff in there, should probably get a NES2 as well.

It's kinda' annoying when unlicensed carts get stuck in the loading mechanism

and you have to unscrew the whole thing :/

  • sega does what nintendon't!

  • This just makes my room look empty

  • FUCKING AWESOME, love the collection you have the known to the unknown as fuck

  • Forgot to mention Im so jealous of you right now.

  • Pretty fuckin' cool.
