i saw kirby returns to dreamland...the rest doesn't rly matter!
by the way, if you need some more space, i just recently put all of my games in a cd holder and put all the cases in a box that i store in a closet, and it saved me a TON of space in my room.
@XxLevelBasherxX no power problems since only one system and the TV + stereo are ever running at the same time from the same outlet. been "aggressively" collecting for 2-3 years, but have slowed the pace for the past few months as to focus on bigger landmarks. don't have any master system variations, don't have the odyssey, don't have the fm towns, don't have the turbo duo, don't have the etc etc etc - at least 20 systems missing.
man dude your stuff is so retro! It's crazy. I though I had ah nice set up. ( Which is really Just my PC rig) Though all your shit. Thats Crazy. I give you props on thaat!
Do you get most of this stuff online? Half of these systems I've never even seen outside. The only other game hoard I've seen come close to this was an estate sale in this mini-mansion for a guy who I suppose worked at Atari back when the 800 and 2600 systems were out. He had a ton of parted out systems, a wall of games, a bunch of strange peripherals, and some unused microchips. An entire bedroom dedicated to Atari. Unfortunately most of the things didn't work so I didn't buy much.
@nsrrenard Hey is that Portland retro gaming expo anything special? Is it related to the Seattle retro gaming expo? I just looked it up and it looks like a fun thing to check out next year.
I think you are the closest thing on this planet to a gaming god.
Also, I introduced a lot of my friends to your music, and they did some research themselves, and kept saying you were a 'hipster'. I admit, I had to google the meaning of that term, but the question I (or 'they', I guess) want to ask is do you consider yourself a hipster?
If you and your friends are talking about a gaming hipster, I'm gonna butt in here and say a probable "No." He owns the Wii and the 360, as well as all the old stuff, and personally I consider a hipster to just be someone who only likes old, obscure things. That's what I hear anyway. Not Renard, just putting this out there.
@Coltsuke nobody knows what hipster means any more and people just use it to describe things they don't like. on the same note that your friends think i'm a hipster because i'm independent and have alternative taste, i guess everybody i know is a hipster too! (they aren't; we're probably the nerdiest people on the planet)
I bet there are sooo many songs you made with references to games... I only noticed the one in "Sean Paul Opens a MFin Casino" without having to google anything :C
No turbo grafix? ;-; Eitherway, god damn. That's the sorta collection I've always wanted, but could never afford. Is that what you used your profit money from your music for? Or is this all just over time?
I have an old collage mate who offered to sell me his Virtual-boy (Apparently in working order) for £3 ($4.70), is that a good price?
Also, How much would you estimate all this nostalgia to worth?
My hypotheses is a lot for there's a Local Museum with a Majority of those products In a Bullet proof Glass casing and Alarm systems... Which is a pretty Critical Security measure.
@tenpinbowl12 if the VB works and has a stand etc, it's up to and over $100. i paid around $250 for my boxed Japanese VB, about $80 for my first complete NA one, and $500 for the one i have attached to the VB sales kiosk. just take good care of it, they're extremely temperamental pieces of kit.
i haven't really valued my collection but i've been at it for 2-3 years rather seriously. i don't like to imagine how much i've spent, but maybe 50 grand or so with the value being 70-80 grand?
@Poliumud i have a lot, but not all ever made, not by a longshot. there are a few not pictured here - Odyssey2, PC Engine CD, and ColecoVision namely, because they're still in WA with Squeedge. when i add a console to the collection i either have to have an affinity for the hardware (usually how unique it is, like the Vectrex and Virtual Boy, my faves), or it has to have a good library of games.
Why would you have three Virtual Boys?

When did you start collecting this all enthusiastically?
Is there any system you DON'T have?
