I saw this last night and i started crying, cause it makes me think about what happens if my mom died, this is the song i will think of. But i love at the end how she says, "She must have been a very special women." and Billy replys, :No she was just my mom." Made me laugh and cry at the same time, but i guess it lightened to mood.
Possibly my favourite Musical I've ever seen. Me, my teachers and classmates, and even men in the audience absolutely fell to pieces! The most incredible, and touching thing i've ever seen. <3
not many songs make me cry but the 1st time i herd this song it was live at west end. i was next to a load of my friends.......and i balled my eyes out at this. its such an emotional and sad song. but the combanation of micheal and everything else there is what makes it such a breath taking musical. anyone planning to go to the theatre book tickets for this musical.
I saw Billy Elliot in London in 2009, and again this August. I saw it both times with my Mam. It's weird, because, her mother died when she was 6, but she was able to hold the tears in during these scenes. I, however, cried loads and loads as soon as they started singing. Billy Elliot is the most moving, incredibly directed, acted and performed show I have ever seen. It's just amazing. This song is beautiful by the way.
This song made me cry my eyes out when I saw this play in London last week. I couldn't stop crying. I wish I had a mom who could and would sing or say these kind of words for me. Who loves me and who's always there for me, unfortunately I haven't. Hearing this song makes me realize how much I've missed.
I saw RYAN COLLINSON as Billy last week in London - he was amazing, absolutely amazing - can't believe this kid only started dancing about a year ago. He is so talented, would love to see him dancing again and what a beautiful touching song is this
I watched this show in the theatre and the little boy that was sitting beside me was crying his eyes out. His mom was trying to get him to quiet down and he was sobbing like crazy. It was the saddest/funniest thing ever.
i LOVE this ! i cried so hard not just the first time i listened to it but the first couple of times....Its is such a sweet song...I love it! love love love love it!!!
Saw this in Denmark, Juelsminde.. This song almost made me cry.. trying to hide if of course, but its hard.. it a beautiful song, and beautiful voices <3. The lyrics are VERY touching
@lucyybieberr not at all :) I remember the first time I saw it, I couldn't stop counting the number of weeks since I saw it (I got up to week 31). and I'm still obsessed. so don't sweat it :)
I saw BE in Dallas yesterday with Lex Ishimoto as Billy. He and the whole cast were wonderful. I hadn't seen the movie and didn't know what to expect. I sure would have brought tissue if I'd known about this number. I had tears streaming down unstoppable, it was so moving. Highly recommend this musical. Truly engaging in every way.
@Boochickadoo2 i had a friend whos mom died a couple years ago, i saw this in a live performance. i thought about him, and cried...in the middle of a theater x$
@Wildflower1497 I saw it in NYC and my whole row was crying then I told them why I was crying so hard so they cried harder. We then laughed a little to try and stop the crying.
My mom died when I was just 6 years old. This song really gets at my heart. It conveys every emotion I feel. The hurt, love, and yearning for someone gone. As Victor Hugo said, "Music expresses that which cannot be expressed in words, but on which it is impossible to be silent."
Coming from a girl who knows what it's like to lose a parent at a young age, I am awed at how well they conveyed the emotions in this song. It brings me to tears each time I listen to it, and reminds me just how much I miss my dad. in other words; this song is simply beautiful. :)
I auditioned for this on Broadway and got 3 callbacks but then I didn't really want it because I had never seen it and I am not the type of person who is like that with a stage mom and everything. I really love this song <3
This is the best musical I've ever seen. Im a dancer and watching Michael Dameski dance and act was really touching. (I know thats not him singing) This song made me cry. Words cannot describe how much Billy Elliot means to me.
