I've just seen the film 'Last Year at Marienbad'.... I had never realised what this video was meant to be before... wow Blur + French New Wave! J'adore!!
Yeah me too, just been looking at a bunch of the music vids of the songs they've featured in all the episodes. Love the intro theme song by The Rapture, but this song was great at the end. Blur has some great songs for the younger generation that sum up the ups and downs of teenage life.. I miss being a teenager, but at least I'm no where near the 30s yet like my older brother who actually listened to Blur in its hayday, I was too busy dancing to Song 2 like a 10 year old nutter :P
No sé a mi parecer pienso que es una de las mejores canciones de BLUR, pero cuando escucho sus otros temas, cambio de opinión, pues me encantan todas sus canciones, son lo máximo BLURRR woooo hoooo !!!!
My favourite Blur song. I've always thought of it as two songs being played at the same time, its so complex. Would die to see the version with Francois Hardy again.
I beg to differ HeadShrinker, because Noel never uses words like infatuated or beaujolais. He doesn't use foreign words like 'Du bist sehr schon' cos he probably wouldn't understand what it means, You are very nice is what it means. But least he shows some intelligence unlike his brother Liam, and that's being easy on him and I even like Oasis.
Parklife's probably my favorite Blur album, and this song possibly most favorite Blur song. I always loved Blur's earlier work, the classical flourishes, sharp production, great lyrics, smarmy attitude. Being from America, I always wondered why their first several albums never made a huge splash. Guess grunge droughned them out. Still, one of greatest pop-bands of the last 20 years.
I have to say Noel is a much better song writer then tons of people out now.
So you're right, there is no competition. Noel wins.
Oh and Blur never ripped off anything? Every song out there sounds a bit and has been influenced by another song. Either the way it sounds or the lyrics.
name 1 Oasis song that rips off a beatles riff?? Champagne Supernova dunt actually mean anything, why do people think lyrics have 2 actually mean something?
Honestly. You people need to get over my opinion. I like Oasis and Blur. This is not the 90's anymore, there is no more feud. So I hope the fans can stop being rude to eachother aswell.
In a bbc 6music interview Damon was talking about how terribly depressed he had been at the time this video had been filmed. He was just lying on a bed in anguish
even though he was in this beautiful castle and enjoyed great success with Parklife.
It's weird, but it's so beautiful and original. I completly love Blur and this is one of my favourite songs and videos. I like this french film style :D.
smokingfast is right, blur brought something new to the table, and in Damon, had a great songwriter. While Oasis had a lot of success, you have to listen their music, and ask does it bring anything new to the table. There are at least 10 Oasis songs that are clear ripoffs of other songs.
it certainly is lol the end.

The french girl speaking is Françoise Hardy, and this video is (I think) a tribute to Alain Resnais's movie "L'année dernière à Marienbad".
