Very nice truck!!! It sounds really good, and I agree with you when the engine changes to 4c the sound does change, my brother has his own muffler shop on this trucks he uses the 3chamber flowmasters and it does make a difference when on 4. Not a fan of those tips tho, but u do have a nice truck I will post some video of mine in a day or so.

Yours sounds really quiet on the inside. I have the same thing on my 07, new body style though like yours, and its loud inside, a bit more than i expected, but its got that low agressive sound to it. Might be because i got cutoff's also, i forgot what it sounded like without them. i never close them. lol

those flows came out good on your truck, none of the beer can noise that flows tend to have, magnaflow would have made it a bit deeper in sound, like a rumble and make this sound more like a roar, you know? but this does sound good

Pretty sick man, i went with the magnaflow, im happy with it but i had the same problem with the tips, i got the ovals but they welded them crooked as hell, i threw a cold air on and it makes that exhaust sound a lil deeper too

oh sorry, i found this vidoe if urs after commenting on the one where u haven't yet selected an exhaust to go with. Nice sound i would say,, but it would have been better with a deep rumble versus the crackling sound u have now. But this is good stuff dude, have fun and add some performance parts, filter and maybe light stage 1 tuning.

my friends own an 08 silverado 5.3 similar to yours just chevy. he got the same super 40 installed. but on his when you reved it goes silent at around 35 to 4k rpms idk why. we went to a shop and they said it had 4 cats that they cant do nothing. so why does yours sound so loud. by the way i love that sound

I heard both the flowmaster and magnaflow on an 07 5.3L, same truck I have, at a local shop and the magnaflow sounds a lot better on this truck. I went with the magnaflow and have not regretted it. The magnaflow has a much deeper tone, sounds meaner.

With a custom tune,however you don't necessarily have to tune it.Any tuner with hptuners or efilive can simply just turn it off if you don't want a tune.The 07+ trucks are so unbelievably held back from the factory,with my tune it runs smoother,better mileage,and a good 30 or 40 horsepower

Why didn't you just have the afm turned off?I hated mine with exhaust so just had it turned off.I got the silverado crew cab just like yours and still get 20-22 mpg at 75

sorry dude, I put the factory back on.I do alot of driving and it was just plain stupid!!! if it would stay in one or the other it would be great, but where I live there is alot of gradual hills that make it kick in and out of the 4 cyl mode which makes it do it all the time...I wish I could leave it in 8cyl mode...cant even here it doing 70mph with no radio....

I have the 08 Ext.Cab 5.3L Chevy Silverado and looking for some aftermarket exhaust ideas. I was thinking of installing the Super 40 along with the same exact tips except exiting out of the rear. Does it give u better acceleration and fuel economy?

I'd go with just regular echo chambers if you go out the back, the guy that lives next to me has the same tips comming out the back and it kinda looks goofey cause u can see alot of the pipe along with the tip ....I actually changed tips I went with some really nice black chrome oval tips comming out the side and man it looks a ton better....as far as more power and mpg's I really cant tell a difference at all, granted I have not taken a road trip yet.

It was around 300 with everything done,All that I did was cut the factory muffler out and put in the super 40 single in dual out set up....I did go with some different tips. I have another video of what its like driving down the road if u want to check it out
