cause its "Ad-hoc" mode. Only NEARBY psp´s who are near you can be online togheter. But you can use Xlink Kai or if you have ps3 you can use Adhoc Party. Hope i answered your question.

There are plenty of quests which are made for 2-4 players, but you can solo. If you want to play with others...

Google "Xlink Kai" or if you have ps3 just download "Adhoc Party"

Nope.

But you DO need xLink Kai and Wifi Link or Wifi Max to play online.

I'm stuck on the HR6 Black Gravios and Black Diablos, so if I get Wifi Link I'll be sure to get som help online. :D

and if you have a ps3 you link your psp to ps3 (no cables) and in ps3 you turn on ad hoc party and play with other players all over the world...

if you dont have a ps3 just wait for monster hunter portable 3 it will have online play

I recently found out that you need to create a Japanese account, then download some software on the Playstation Store that is exclusive to Japan, then you can play worldwide!

It's almost as if they don't want people outside Japan playing this game, or atleast not with other people, which just makes this game very lonely!

No wonder so very few people play Monster Hunter anymore...

Firstly, you need a PS3 that is connected to the modem by wire (wireless connection won't work for this), then you must create a Japanese account on your PS3. Then go to PSN Store on your new account and there is ad-hoc software that is exclusive to Japanese accounts, but allows you to play worldwide on your PSP as long as you are within range of your PS3. Once you've downloaded and installed it'll be under the games tab...

Once you've opened the ad-hoc software on your PS3 you must select the 3rd option, but the circle and the x button for Japan are opposite, so use the circle button to select it. Once you've done that it will start scanning for any PSP devices within range, then you can finally enter the online Guild Hall, and people will be in the different halls.... talk about complicated!!! And most of the people will be Japanese anyway so you might wanna start learning if you want a proper online experience.

The ad-hoc software on PSN Store is loacted under the second to last option and will have the words "ad-hoc" on the symbol. Hope that helps, if you can understand it lol.

It only local play. nut with the right online programs and knowing ur computer well u can set up a network where u can connect ur psp to w wifi adapter that treats it like a local network and play online. But it is a pain.

@44daneck well you can alwaysuse those private programs to connect with other people, it somehow changes your adhoc to wifi but i dont use that, but what he is talking about (i think) is the new program on the ps3, in the playstation store there is a free program called adhoc party (or somthing like that, forgot the xact name) all you hav to do is connect you psp to ur ps3 via usb, and your on, tho you hav to use a wired net connection, not wifi. overall its a brilliant idea
