I have to admit that the first five times I watched this, I thought that Mufasa was actually going to be alive in his physical form. I'm one of those guys who enjoys a good battle scene but the part where Simba interacts with Mufasa's ghost is by far my favorite part of this movie-very emotional. Disney got this one right.

Also @BrairMoss just because the movie refers to him as a baboon, doesn't mean he isn't drawn as a Mandrill or Drill. Most baboons are dun to dark grey colored, with none of the coloring you see with Rafiki. Baboons are also of a different genus (Papio) while drills are of Genus Mandrillus.

tl;dr Disney illustrators drew a Mandrill instead of a baboon. Primatology rocks. And thanks for posting vid.

The male may seem lazy but they patrol over the pride grounds, marking territory and fighting off other male lions encroaching on their turf and enemies. So while Sarabi could have taken it back from Scar, she would have gotten killed easily.
