@yak6ex north star polaris! And no its not like asking "whats north of the north pole" thats a stupid saying that you heard somewhere. Before the big bang is perfectly resonable to think about.

One is causing the Universe to expand while the other is receding, becoming scarcer, but,Dark Matter and Dark Energy compose MOST of the visible Universe---and we know not what either really are.Empirically,we are at a seed stage about the understanding of much, empirically.God,likewise,is only notional.
Part 1~ The Big Bang is logic. PRIOR to the Big Bang is a miracle. To say the Big Bang is the beginning of the universe is like saying who made God. Heres the miracle, the true birth of the universe by logic and scientific explanations. Before the Big Bang something in space existed. Man says there was no matter or time but thats because man defines matter based on time.
@RadicalComedy Part 2~ Time had to exist prior to the Big Bang because most scientists agree that space expanded, changed, grew and any CHANGE is relevant to time. We may not know the mathmatical formula for Time prior to the Big Bang because we cant measure space without matter but its foolish to say that a universe expanded, changed and yet time didnt exist.
@RadicalComedy Part 3~ If we use deductive reasoning, and go back, PRIOR to the Big Bang, something existed in space. Some kindof of force, energy or light or something that could expand space. Lets call that something BBB1. (Before Big Bang 1). And BEFORE that was BBB2 and before that was BBB3. What this means is as we go back, something in the universe was expanding and something was making the universe expand. Here is the miracle, why man can never use logic to explain the universe existing.
@RadicalComedy Part 3~ If space expanded, then it must have been once smaller right? And once smaller than that right? And go back and go back, and at some point, space must have been nonexistent. OR, Space created itself from nothing. OR whatever expanded the universe had to always exist, eternal! Its a miracle that anything can just exist. Its a miracle that nothing could exist and POOF space birthed itself and grew by some unknown force that was eternal.
@RadicalComedy To conclude, the true start of the universe needs miracles and logic can not explain a universe that could create itself from a nothing start or a universe that could expand and grow by some force that either was eternal OR whatever created that force was eternal OR at some point, eternal is the only true answer for the universe. This is a theist view of God and this is why I beleive that non theist and theist are more similiar than we think.
Anytime someone claims something that cannot (CANNOT) be proven, they are practicing their own brand of faith. Considering that men of science are not supposed to work on faith, it just shows how corrupt mankind is as a species. We are hopeless in most things except hate and war. In those, we thrive and are very adept.
I scoff at the arrogant scientists as much as I do the ignorant theists. Clowns; all of them.
i've always believed that contradictory things can simultaneously and along with a lot of other confusing stuff, be true, so despite the compelling new evidence for big bang, i'm still an avowed curved space enthusiast, myself. and i believe in the one true god, all the old god(s) and goddess(es), satyrs, nymphs, centaurs, sprites, jolly old men with white beards, egg bearing bunnies and leprechauns with equal if contradictory fervor and faith. and i'm an atheist, too!
I dont think the big bang is a proven theory. Everything did not come from nothing, there must have been something before!!!

Indeed. We all operate on faith, all the time.
