  • What is the program called that he uses?

  • very good introductory of Pythagorean ..

  • I like the way you explain how to work any problem.

    Thank you.

  • King khan!

  • this is a cool way to look at maths!!!!! :)

  • Math mistake at 7:20!

  • Did you write my textbook?

  • thanks alot

  • 1 angle not 1 side = 90 degrees

  • nicely done

  • Everyone Makes mistakes. Yeah, your teachers at school have a book that took HUNDREDS of people to write. This is one guy that made almost 2,500 videos; all by himself.

  • Please sing for me

  • @rinwhr lol

  • how did you get 5

  • @TheWarlord1998 he square root 25 = 5

  • so is B 10.4

    great teaching sir

  • Thanks you teach better than my teacher :( haha everytime I go to school I dont get anything untill I come here

  • Thnx man :T

  • OMG THANK YOU I MISSED HOW TO DO THIS AN YOU SAVEDD MY LIFE :D

  • his still a good teacher for me :P

  • Hey thanks for the help, but double check your answers:)

  • thank you so much man,

I just started a new school, and they were already halfway through this stuff....

    Thank you ..

  • I think that, there is a mistake in the calculation, because of 144-36 is not equal to 112. I mean 144-36=108

    :)

  • I love ur vids but use a calculator to make sure your awnser are correct! :D

  • you guys are helping me out thnxxxxxxxxxxx u guys are makin mi weakest subject area strong THANK YOU

  • gooooooooooood teacher thanx ALOTTTT.........THOUSANDS OF THANX

  • one angle of a triangle is 90 degrees not one side!!

  • Was doing research for a school assignment thanks so much for this. the visual really helped seal in the info

  • where did he get 144 ?

  • @miicachris

    12x12=144

  • PLATO/Greek ancient philosopher and mathematician informed Pythagoras algebra and geometry theorem. How wonderful!

very useful videos you have here.

    Thanks.

  • thnxx 4 the help !

  • Awesome guide.

  • what about a pot hung high on a noose: high pot on a noose

  • Am going to pass my exam, this October thanks to you.

  • What About The Algebraic Proof? Can You Explain That To Me Pleassee?

  • i wish u were my teacher, u make it so easy!

  • IRL to get 3 and 4 you'd still need a ruler but to find the hypotenuse you don need a ruler so a very useful theorem lol

  • hold up something is weird 144-36 is 108

  • I am a high school math teacher, enjoy your videos and agree with your philosophy on the future of math education. I will be encouraging students to work with your site along with any coursework. Is it possible for you to redo the video with the 112 (instead of the 108) or any other videos where there is one of the "arithmetic errors" (yet, the concept is well explained!).

  • a SIDE with 90 degrees? interesting...

  • aint there an easyier way????????

  • @vekaria12345 dude this is the easiest and only way of doing it

  • yes it 108

  • 7:54

the real "simplified" radical would be 6√3

  • thank you so

    Much! I

Am 14 years old in grade 8 and am on a 3 month exchange program in France. I just found out we have a test tomorrow on pythegorean theorem and I know almost nothing! ur video was very helpful! Ill probably be watching More of ur vids NeXT year in high school. Thanks again'

  • I just caught that subtraction mistake also, having run ahead of him. Then i heard him say 112 and I was like hmmm this guys videos rock but he is so smart that he is so dumb. HAHA just kidding. total joke. Your viedoes are great and you are a great help! :)

  • What do you mean the length of B is 4√7 ?

Is that the answer? If someone asked "How long is your driveway" and you said it's 4√7 they'd give you a slap wouldn't they? Perhaps I need a slap but that doesn't seem right. Please slap me.

  • the Pythagorean Theorem was the BEST part of 8th grade

  • I love the way people thumbs downed me for not understanding.

    Assholes.

  • i enjoyed your video, it was a valiant effort. unfortunately 144-36=108, not 112. i gave your vid a 5 star rating anyway, for the effort.

  • The dyslexic mind is a nightmare of horrors, even when preforming simple arithmetic.

He has carried the one and minused 4 from 6 instead of 6 from 4...

  • well... at least he git the point across :)

  • how do u get tht black board thing i wanna have tht program

o btw thx for all of ur explanation

    really appreciate

  • its just paint, with the background painted black instead of white, it comes with all windows versions.

  • ms paint with screen capture

  • so he went 12 times twelve =144?

  • LOL!

  • Problem again here, What the fuck is going on from 7:40?

Anyone who knows where I can check learn what he's talking about with his "perfect square" malarky please reply.

    Thanks.

  • dude he just put a point (.) in between 16 and 7 instead of times (x) which confused u

  • @truthkilla I don't

  • i will gone have a exam today but with this video i will have 100 marks

  • you might want to go back and review the khan academy video on subtraction.

  • B=144-36

    B=108!!!!!! not 112!!!!!!!!!!

  • 144-36 is 108 and not 112..

but this helps clear the theoram.. Thanks

  • Where were u singing?

  • The right answer is 6 SQRT 3.

  • can u upload a video lesson on addition+subtraction???

cuz im amazed at ur 144-36=112

  • @scjo89 Dam dude we all mess up!

  • does this guy have a website ? he is cool!!!

  • i never thought I'd say this, but YOU MAKE LEARNING FUN!! great job. other teachers should learn from you.

  • where 5 came from? well to make sense think about the theoreme: square of the hypothenuse is equal to the sum of squares of the cathethes... so 3 square + 4 square is 9+16=25 but that is sqaure so you need to take the radical: radical of 25=5 and there u got it

  • uhmmmmmmm thanks ill just wiki it

  • thanks! ths cleared some stuff up for me!!

  • where the 5 come frm?

  • he square rooted 25, he didn't explain that.

  • He's better than any teacher I've ever met...

  • its supposed to be 108 not 112.... \m/ =))

  • yea.ur ryt.i kept solving for it and wondered y 112.hha

  • umm 144-36 is 108 not 112.... and for anicetune the 5 is the square root of 25 so thats where the 5 came from.. umm how do u find the angle of a triangle using this therom? like my Hypottenuse is 11.. and the other side is 6.1 and the other side doesnt say anything. so it wld be 6.1'2+b'2+11'2 and for b'2 i got 9.15.. but i cant figure out the 2 numbers in the triangle besides the 90 degree angle..help?

  • you can see that he inverted 146 - 134 which would yield 112 with 144-36 which should have yielded 108,,,, mentally he flipped the six and the four in the ones digit place of each number...

  • Or he saw and cancelled out the hundreds, saw the four and the three, subtracted, was left with one then took the six from the four which was deemed fourteen leaving eight but forgot to make the proper calculation between the tens and twenties giving the answer of one hundred and twelve not one hundred and eight. Simple mistake esp when you're not at your peak.

  • Hmmmm..144-36 is 108 not 112!

  • @24Adrian24 Absolutely right! Let's grace this with a time indication, shall we? @7:20

  • @24Adrian24 I think I can forgive Sal, he's only a super computer.

  • @24Adrian24 i know right that is wrong because i was doing the math with him and it was wrong and he calls himself a teacher an i call you a failure that does not know math every and what is your name the one that think know math i was like maybe he was right because i am not good at math and i was just joking i make mistake sometimes and i understand if you did something wrong

  • @24Adrian24 know right that is wrong because i was doing the math with him and it was wrong and he calls himself a teacher an i call you a failure that does not know math every and what is your name the one that think know math i was like maybe he was right because i am not good at math and i was just joking i make mistake sometimes and i understand if you did something wrong.

  • Where did 5 come from? Everything else made sense.

  • C^2 is = 25

    c = 5

by taking the square root of 25

    5X5 = 25

That's how he got the 5.

  • Very good explanation.

  • I forgot to mention that hypoten- means stretching over the something beneath it. That's where the -ten- meaning stretch and the hypo- meaning under come from.

  • Sal 144-36=108, not 112. B should equal 6 sqrt(3).

  • 'Hypotenuse' is a Greek derived word, at least the 'hypoten' part is. I don't know where the 'u-s-e' comes from.

I have a Greek friend, and he said 'u-s' is never Greek; it's Roman. Romans made many Greek words Latin, according to Alex.

The only time a 'u-s' appears in a Greek word is when it's followed by an 'e', making it 'e-u-s'.

  • This should help me I forgot all of this stuff back when I was sick

  • Great explanation, really helped me out!

    THX

  • @maddycinski1 and what a math teacher you call your self right well i can no say that because every one make mistake sometimes right

  • Is your IQ 27500?

  • How do you draw the lines so straight on the computer?

  • He uses a Line tool, which takes two points and the computer draws the line between them. So all he's doing is designating the starting and ending point, and the program does the rest.

If you use a pen tool in some programs, you can accomplish sort of the same thing by using a constraint key, which is usually shift key. In MSPAINT, if you hold shift with the Pen tool, you get a perfectly straight line. Though the constraint, I think it only lets you do lines in 45 degrees. 0, 45, 90, etc.

  • this is great. Yeah, Pythagorous' religion was based on math. it was called Numerology. Pretty freaky how right it is. weird.

  • Hypotenuse comes from latin and it from the greek: "having from under it" or something like that...

  • nice. keeping it nice and simple. why some ppl make it somplicated i dont know.

  • very good presentation actually.. i agree.. lol. the answer should be B= 6 square root of 3. =) u made it sooo good.. lol. try explaining subtraction next time, i think u need it =)

  • good explanation, except 144 - 36 = 108 not 112 :P
