This..Like all the Great Osmonds' stuff needs to rattle the walls with bass .
Probably not the what they meant it but it is always 2 strokes ( cant think of any other way to say it..it is all clean analog equipment..better than digital..that is a whole other subject ) down on the treble and 2 srokes up on the bass .
Use it on all my stuff and get just a few complaints..as Long as
Compared with Anita Bryant's version, this is quite sophomoric. The tempo is awful.
I mean no harm to the lady, but Anita Bryant is far more beautiful, it would even be corny to compare them. Well, beauty depends on the eyes of the beholder, and anybody can have his own concept of beauty. My goodness, I have to go to Anita Bryant's site. I find this unbearable!
I just love all Marie's oldies from my early teen days! I don't know whatever happened to my vynl albums over the years though? Great post thankyou for this.
Another of the ladies' better hidden gems, and far superior than the original by Anita Bryant. Hadn't heard this one in YEARS, and THANK YOU to the poster. Let's hope it stays here a while. The album, by the way, is probably the BEST of Ms. Osmond's pure country collections.
I still remember when she brought out her first album when she was about 15 years old. Its was great and she has endured the difficult lifestyle of an entertainer, yet still has that softness and kindness she showed when she was much younger. She's even more beautiful today than she was then too. Thanks for posting this song.
Another Anita Bryant cover - Mike Curb was leading her into the Country charts the way he did for Donny with Go Away Little Girl, Puppy Love, Hey Girl, etc. She and Donny would pair up for some famous duets next:I'm Leavin' It ALl Up To You, Morning Side of the Mountain and Let It Be Me.
That was apparently what Mike Curb did with most of his singers. I read somewhere that when Tony DeFranco and his family's stardom started to fizzle, they went with Mike Curb and he wanted to do the same thing he did with Donny--having him do covers, but the DeFranco Family didn't want to do it.
Now Tony DeFranco's legacy for all time is... Heartbeat - it's a lovebeat and abracadabra:P I just googled them for fun and it appears they recorded Save the LAst Dance for Me, We Belong Together and Venus so apparently they tried covers as a last ditch anyway. And they were on American Bandstand 9 times?! I need to drink now :>
Being from Utah, this is my favorite version of this song. There are alot of great versions of this song includina Anita Bryant, and the wonderful 1948 original by Art Kassell.

This is very nice. George McCurn did a nice version of this song also, back in 1962.
