Lizzie really is remarkable to me. She is very lively and responds very well to you. I hope I can train Zulu to do the same. I got him from a breeder and I will probably show him. Connie, on the other hand, is a rescue dog and had been abused. She is very sweet but does not have the confidence that Zulu and your Lizzie have. Both are wonderful pets.
No, I've never shown Lizzie, but I tried to do that when I owned my first Afghan Hound (a black one, named Sissy).
I remember Sissy and I had great fun because it was a sort of informal local dog show. It was amazing to see that my black Affie was incredibly confident, on that occasion, although I didn't know how to train pets and - in addition - Sissy was even an abused and always-shocked dog (we found her in our garden, almost starving). So, what I...
...what I mean to say is that each Afghan Hound seems to have their unique hidden gift...
Infact, because of her exuberance, my current dog Lizzie will surely fail a dog show, 'cause she is pretty good with humans, but not in front of a... "four legged" audience too! How can I say... Lizzie will be an undisciplined "boaster", if she meets another dog ;-) I've tried to change her, but... ugggh (Afghan Hounds are like humans: they're unpredictable, proud, but so lovely!).
So, in my opinion, you may try finding out the "hidden gift" in each of your Affies, then develope it in a pleasent way: playing playing playing! Always make your Afghan Hounds believe that they are doing what they simply want to do, because they're not like... dogs!! :-)

Good to see Lizzi again. (I used to sign in as Primelaw.) She is a beautiful brindle. Her saddle has come very nicely.
I now have two Afghan Hounds, Connie and Zulu. Zulu loves to watch this video.
Regards.
