  • Hippie?

  • I have theory that government is using light pollution to hide ufo's. Maybe there are other reasons but anyway they really stupid.

I miss magnificient sky filled with stars.

  • We got headlights on cars...and those lights make them useless!!!

  • ohhhh sorry i was looking for the song, bright eyes- light pollution!

  • Everyone is emo, they love the eternal darkness. Thats why they hate light pollution simple and easy explanation

  • @emotionalpunkboy I hope you're joking

  • i dont get whats, so bad about light (light Pollution), im just 14 i dont get why light its soo, bad. People say oh its because too much light is realeased in the atmosphere, im like, " ok, Whats your point its just light" i need specific details. also if anybody knows the same thing for noise pollution, please tell me. thankyou.

  • @ONEshotRAIN Its mainly to do with Astronomy and being able to see the sky clearly. Light in itself is not harmful, but a lot of light fixtures are wasteful of energy (most of it directed to the sky). There maybe also evidence about how light can affect human health, and nature. The clear night sky is a beautiful thing, and its a real shame people cant see it because of poorly designed lighting. If the lighting was directed to the ground, it wouldnt be a problem.

  • @itsabomberscope oooh, i think i get your point, thank you so much. :)

  • @ONEshotRAIN it harms animals and humans. birds hit buildings and die. it disrupts human circadian rhythm.

  • @ONEshotRAIN well start searching "what is light pollution?"

  • yeAH BUt, if u didnt have street lighting, then how are the muggers able to see what theyre stealin and the rapists able to choose their prefered gender when at on a good honest rape and pillagin session. come on guys stop bein so selfish and think about the scum of society for a change

  • We watched this vid in class today and my fellow students laughed through the whole thing ....I never figured out why they where laughing....Why is my school so weird?:P ..... You'r cool btw xD

  • @hanitaafu 'cause the guy looks funny?

  • i can see all that stuff from my house not to make you guys mad but if you want to see that move to the country i work for a electric company and the public wants the lights so you are going to the right people to get it done but i think that too many people are afraid of the dark these days lol

  • thanks for posting

  • I hate it, I would love to even take a long exposure of the Milkyway.

  • @Nassault630 no doubt

  • fuck light pollution!!

  • Our city once had street lights that were shaped like a upside down "L". The box shaped recessed lights lit up the street below real good. The city has now taken them down and replaced them with a lolly pop shaped street light. Dispite the street lights being very bright, the street is very dark. It's hard to see people walking across the street because of the bright glare. It's harder to see the night sky because of the light pollution they cause. Lights like this should be banned!

  • global worming is a hoax but Light pollution is a real threat

dont fear to expose the light polluters

  • Light pollution truly is the bane of astronomy. :( I hope more people become aware of the problem and push for change.

  • fuck pollution, im gonna be a dead mother fucker when it fucks the world up. let my children deal with that shit, fuck it

  • @juanlmesl Let's see; where to begin; light pollution is a waste of money; its a health hazard; its an eyesore; its a safety hazard; and its an enviromental hazard, for starters.

  • @juanlmesl Light pollution is UnNatrual and a fear based responce

  • @juanlmesl Lies, Unless you go past Barahona to the west, the night sky in the Dominican Republic is similar to any given median-populated city.

  • @Eabranth true but you are forgetting about the blackouts LOL then you can see the stars :P

  • @juanlmesl damn, you got me there... :)

  • @juanlmesl light pollution reduces the production of melatonin which can increases the chances of getting cancer =)

  • @juanlmesl because it hurts animals and people is cost the united states $10 billion each year. We also have to think about our children who won't be able to see the stars at all because light pollution is only going to get worse. Do some research about it!

  • dont be ashamed to fight light pollution

  • dont be ashamed to fight light pollution

  • light pollution is desctutive to some plant repdoductive cycles

and washes out the night sky

so you cannot see the the created heavens at night

  • This video would be more effective if you took the time to explain what light pollution is. You know, and I know, but the average viewer sees this and wonders "what is he complaining about?"

I would love to see something that shows for example a comparison of a clear dark sky and a typical urban (or even suburban) sky.

Use your power to educate, not just complain! (Not that there's anything wrong with complaining!)

  • I teach environmental issues at a local college and my students were completely unaware of this issue ............ good job with the video guys ..... I will use it in my class next time if you don't mind

  • i swear to god, if obama completely eliminates light pollution un the U.S. I WILL FUCKING WORSHIP HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • forced worship is not worship at all!

worship him in your own free will =)

  • i will worship him at my own free will... if he destroys light pollution.

  • i dont want this place to be a place of religious debates

    so...

    umm....

    i guess you win

  • What a waste of energy, a waste of the environment. With a reflector they could radiate more light down and reduce the wattage. In addition, I prefer that they all be activated by motion sensors. We should all insist that our city planners establish responsible codes and enforce them.

  • That's it right there!! Think Global, Act local.

  • @ReduceGHGs Nikola Tesla figuired out a way to create electricity at no cost, but of course, that didn't happen. Search up Nikola Tesla, he is probably the most under-appreciated genius that ever lived. If all his ideas, except for his weaponry, were in effect today, we would be so much more advanced and wouldn't have so much pollution. but of course when you have people like J.P. Morgan living on this planet, the truth is hard to find.

    Peace in 2012

  • No, I don't believe Tesla ever developed "free energy".

He's certainly underappreciated by the general public for what he did accomplished. I'd love to have a Tesla Roadster from Tesla Motors. Too bad its so spendy!

  • never thought of the topic.....good points

  • The sad thing is all people have to do to GREATLY decrease light pollution is just put a fucking hood over street lights and lights in publicly lit areas! It's so easily preventable it's sickening. We need lights shining down on US during the night, not up in the sky.

  • you could retro-fit those lamps with a hood...
