It's not her size that has me in disbelief about her strike speed. It's her lethargic attitude. Gabbies are highly tolerant snakes. It takes a lot to get them to bite.
very ballsy of this guy to let a gaboon of all deadly snakes withing feet of children. when he layed it in the grass it could have jolted faster than his reaciton
Quel debil pfff! J'aurai bien aimé qu'il se fasse mordre par cette vipere, il aurait moins fait le malin. Sortir un serpent aussi venimeux devant des enfants, faut vraiment rien avoir dans le ciboulot! C'est pas chien de compagnie!*
Shocking! Gaboons are NOT pets, def. NOT 'show & tell' snakes - worse, children are watching, admiring and will copy this 'so-called-handler' with fatal results. Gaboons should only be kept by responsible, knowledge-able adults who have patience, and "snake behaviour commonsense" - i.e. all snakes are capable of anything at any moment, constant reseaching, creating enviroment suited for the snake, not you. This so-called handler should be ashamed, walk away and go sell goldfish food.
Was this done at a school? Regardless, people were there who obviously didn't want to be there and their busybody talking ruins it for the rest of us.
This idiot is gonna die someday...Having handled these animals before when they have this disposition you should forget about the commentary and take care of securing the animal. The result of a bite from this animal with full envenomation will be the next best thing to fatal in the US if you do not have a doctor on hand with the proper antivenin. The venom is not that potent but it makes up for quality big time in quantity. If you smoked 200 cigarettes in 10 minutes you're dead. Same thing.
