  • I got Duke Nukem 3D for $3 bucks on gog.com

  • I LOVE DUKE NUKEM

  • how to you get the high res pack to work on this version dont get me wrong i dont usally care about graphics but im curious.

  • windows xp fat but sexy

  • duke nukem is a american game

  • Use eduke32, Dosbox is used for non-Windows ported video games!

  • you fucking lied i downloaded it and it did not work

  • @xandar78 Maybe you just suck.

  • I bought all the Jedi Knight games from Steam and the Dark Forces came along with a Dosbox. So is the D3D gog version emulated or what engine did it use?

  • @TerporFIN it uses dosbox

  • Duke Nukem 3D runs on Windows 7 Perfectly. I went and downloaded it yesterday and =O OMG I DIDNT GET A VIRUS!!!! can you believe that NOOBS!!!

  • @severdnerv How do you know your computer doesn't have a virus?

It's not like your computer coughs or gets a fever, your computer could be infested with keyloggers, data miners or worse, part of a botnet... and it'd be almost impossible to know.

Not all viruses are designed to insta-destroy your system.

  • @Treblaine OK i see your point, But how do you know that you dont have cancer>??? i mean u might have but it just hasent shown yet? see u cant go through life wondering if u have or havent cause then life wouldent be worth living ... Live a little dude =P

  • @severdnerv I'm certain I don't have cancer because I am only 22 years old, don't smoke, and check my ball (like every guy should) for unusual lumps when I bathe. Most cancers have noticeable and distinct symptoms, must computer viruses by their intelligent design do not.

If you smoke you SHOULD worry about cancer.

If you download pirate games, you SHOULD worry about viruses.

  • @Treblaine LOL well if thats the kind of guy you are, i guess you dont have sex without a condom then as YOU COULD CATCH AN STI LOL =P Poor fellow

  • @severdnerv You never use a condom? Enjoy the AIDS, and fuck-you-too for spreading that shit around.

If you wan't to go condom-free, then get in a truly monogamous relationship.

  • @Treblaine LMFAO lol Wot is this? THe world acording to "Treblaine". LOL that everything should conform to YOUR Standards and everything else is wrong and unjust. For sum1 who must lead his life following every rule in the book u must have a very boring life... And i supose you Never Drink more alchahol than stated as well LOL.. Get a life bud if i choose to DOWNLOAD Pirate copied games then thats my descison, If i choose to have UNPROTECTED SEX then again thats MY DESCISON also lol =D

  • @severdnerv Want to fuck your computer with pirate games? Fine, YOUR SYSTEM!

Want to risk testicular cancer and ending up a castrati? Fine, YOUR BALLS!

But DO NOT act like it's only your problem being a STD spewing parasite, ignorance is no excuse, you have a responsibility to rubber-up cause she's not going to put one on herself.

Grow up and be a man, not a petulant child. I tried to give you some helpful advice, now I'm just disgusted at you.

  • @Treblaine Well Treblaine Its been fun =D but i got to go ...Got some games to download and i got a date 2nite so gona be having some RAW SEX =P and mabey afterwards i think ill have a Cig but its been fun

  • @severdnerv Are you trying to be a douchebag... like as in trying to be funny.

Because it really is fucking hilarious, bragging like some passive aggressive teen virgin, bullshitting about sex and downloading games OoOoOOH! So edgy.

  • @severdnerv i am not gonna buy a game AGAINN BECAUSE I GOT A SPYWARE VIRUS FROM ONE

  • :O Dont invoke the name of the Dark Lord so lightly heathen

  • @theshadowfan .. wow youre a big noob.

  • 5 hours instalation ..... you have a really fking old computer .

  • @Cobac

if its from a disk yes... if its an online download then i could be his internet or his computer... or both

  • Comment removed

  • I think you should buy original copies not because of virus, but to help (or worship, if we're talking about good old games) the developers...

  • @mimuradk well 3d realms is no more and the game is open source... I think the only ones you support is the "gog" ... ??

  • >Get a trojan virus on your computer

    what are you, fucking retarded?

When downloading torrents of games I like to use something that most people including yourself don't seem to use anymore in this dark cruel dumb world.

    It's call common sense.

  • @JasminLeblanc

buddy sense is not that common

  • Fag

  • no me gustan las armas

  • There is one thing I hate about Good Old Games. The revenue they get isnt routed to original authors. In fact the software is so old, the developers have already got all they needed. So why are they selling something that is outdated, has already made profit and something whose authors wont get any money anyway? I dont know. So many proud people for throwing money away and feeling good. Throw your money at greenpeace and get a version from TPB instead. Do something GOOD.

  • @lin545 I think the authors know they can't get any money out of it, but like how people can at least play the games they once played before, or if they missed out on it because they were so young, or even if it's kids who never played the games before and want to try'em out. Besides, since it's DRM free, the devs pretty much said, "Here, sell it, because we don't anymore."

Besides, I love the service. The games I have work perfectly, and it's a good Alt. to Steam.

  • @lin545 In some cases the original developers do own the rights, like Cyan Worlds and the Myst series or Piranha Bytes and Gothic, for example. In other cases, the original developer is still under the current and/or former publisher, like Beyond Good & Evil, for example. And then there are cases where the current publisher is funding new installments in a franchise under a new developer, like Kalypso and Patrician IV. FINALLY, there are cases like the King's Quest fan project!

  • @pendevil Yeah, I know these cases, but in reality only 1-3 percent own rights for the titles they wrote, the rest is some mega-publisher that does what it wants, main thing moneyflow is there. They fire old staff, freeze projects, outsource them to extra-low payment coders, sell titles further, sue fanprojects, ignore community wishes, make like 4 titles all from scratch instead of one but finished, etc. Something all know anyway :)

  • p.s. it was the shareware ver.

  • i downloaded it for free and i didnt get a virus...

  • I like getting games from Good Old Games however I've noticed that some of the older titles don't quite work right with the newer NT versions of Windows (XP,Vista,7).

I have no problems so far with the gaming titles at gog that were originally released when XP was out. Some of their titles are quite recent as well.Kind of surpised that

iL-2 Sturmovik 1946 was at good old games and they have some other top titles as well for dirt cheap.

  • @ajones6302 i agree with you $5 is a good price on games thats why i pa that but i do download the games that cost a shit load more like bad company 2 BUT thing is that not all of us do have the possibility of buying things over internet i can use credit card but i dont trust my self and tell me ONE store that sell Duke nukem _/ Shadow warrior / Doom 1, 2 in store and i go there right away. . . . oh yeah that was 20 years ago so there is none so i HAVE to use torrents

  • @pappo666 Use Paypal instead, which GOG accepts. All you need is a bank account -- attaching a pre-paid credit card to your Paypal account will let you make instant purchases even after the money runs out also. Been doing this a long time.

  • There is also a frontend named Eduke32 you can use, with options such as the High-Resolution Pack and Polymer rendering. :-)

  • I thing I need to run this on dosbox; which I have already. But can somebody please help me!!!!!!! plz!!!!!!! give me the steps.

  • I installed duke nukem but it does not run on my vista 32 bit. It will finish the setup menu and then it goes back to my desk top. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON! I paid FOR IT AND GOT NOTHING IN RETURN!!!!!!!

  • @ajones6302 You have to run it with certain parameters on Wine (on Linux), but it works great on Linux too.

  • Just bought Duke Nukem and Redneck Rampage on GOG for Vista 64-Bit, both play perfect.

  • I like a lot GOG.

  • It sucks, get duke nukem land of the babes

  • I got all the games from that site... free.. illegal, yes. Virus, no. Just have to have a brain and you can install and crack a game faster then you can buy it from that stupid site. stop trying to promote this garbage and make people pay SO much $ for such old games..

  • the prices are more than fair, go to hell

  • stop wasting your money .. its not worth 10 buks

10 buks is not little money

    save for new games

  • @TheRogueMonk but it's a little piece of history :P

  • I love this website, I bought Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics.

  • I'll will always love Duke Nukem 3D :'D

  • I have that game in my xbox360 i download for 800 microsoft points

  • Good game, no?

  • I can't download Duke Nukem, my computer is too new and I got Vista.

  • why u got vista?

    :D

  • I can play it from GOG on Vista.

  • i got a trojan condom

  • Good brand

  • @iforeverskate XDXDXDXDXDXD

  • You found a crappy torrent or whatever if you get trojans :P

Anyway, this sounds pretty awesome. Does it use Dosbox or a source port?

  • You can play duke nuke atomic online.

  • How do I do that?

  • Theres two ways.

One is buying the game for xbox.

Or... download a "cracked" duke nukem 3d atomic edition with HD models, and the eduke - dukonecctor...

But, I think that the online server is closed.

So, only remains playing Duke in Xbox 360.

  • virus because you downloaded illegality?

    Bullshit

  • i dont pirate and i would never play duke nukem

  • to hell with GOG why pay 5 to 10 dollars for gams like doom duke3d or ut99 when i can any of those games on amazon for as little as 1 cent point less and i wouldnt want to pay for old games like thats anyways and for new games with drm and it dont install your just a retard and your comp dont work but thats my guess you must be hitting cancel or something

  • I like how you tried to justify yourself there. In my opinion dn3d is better then most games today, but opinions aside, I'm sure you'd have a great time justifying yourself against the new games I'm sure you pirated.

  • I have the Steam, D2D, and GOG versions of UT2k4 and the GOG version is by far the best from the size of the installer to the hands free automatic serial integration. And it was the cheapest one. The game is still lots of fun and runs on all my lesser pcs and laptops so everyone can LAN play. Wish I would have just got 4 copies from GOG, would have saved a lot of money (the d2d one was $35 because they only had the collection).

  • besides build in it just uses dosbox i buyed all the x-com games on steam for 15 euro's guys what they promised it would have a patch and that it would work rong it went real slow and it just uses dosbox they say that they cant make a patch because they dont have the source code this is the same with GOG its just dosbox

  • i got norton so it's k

  • Norton sucks. It's all about Nod32!

  • amen, i have ESET NOD32 too. Best anti-virus out there imo, and doesn't hog the memory or take up too many cpu cycles.

  • It's crazy how well it works. It constantly updates!

  • yeh best anti-virus imo

  • nod32 is a beast. thanks for this website. time for some old school game shopping

  • is that anti spyware too

  • It's everything that you can ask for.

  • GOG is having a promotion: During this week, until Monday, June 1 at 11:59 p.m., you can buy Duke Nukem bundle including Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition and Duke Nukem Manhattan Project with a 25% discount. The whole action packed bundle will cost you just $8.98, this week only! To receive the discount you have to buy both games in one order or click here to receive the discount and all those of you who already have one of the games can grab the other one with a $1.50 discount.

  • lawl i'm so scared, i will never ''ever'' download pirate version of some games. I might get ''virus''.

  • @DotaMaster321 the bad hackers who do it for kicks will sometimes custom-craft viruses and build them into software.

Which is why we have to pay for antivirus software (has to be constantly updated), ha ha.

  • @DotaMaster321 games are way more dangerous to pirate than music or video, as they have to be installed and plug directly into your hardware, which leaves your computer so vulnerable and bypasses anti-virus software.

A movie or song is just played by reading a data file, giving no extra system access.

  • It's funny because near the end, he talks about the act of buying a game as some kind of new technology to replace pirating it.

"You don't need a patch! It's all built in!"

    I laughed so hard.

  • @MrDavidCollins No, he's talking about a (sometimes third-party) upgrade patch to make it work on newer OSes. As you may remember, many of these old games were coded to work on a certain operating system. Not a crack.

    "...they fix it for you."

  • Problem with GOG is I dont feeling even 1 buck an old game. I mean does developers of from dead companies get that money? E.g. Fallout 2,

  • Good Old Games buys the rights to the games from whoever owns them (don't know if Duke Nuke'em 3D's developers did), then has its engineers patch up the games and optimize them for running on modern computers. Not a bad deal for $5.99-$9.99 per game (not to mention a few free titles they carry, like Watchmen artist Dave Gibbon's Beneath a Steel Sky point and click adventure game). I'm a loyal and happy GoG customer, who's purchased Jagged Alliance 1 and Deadly Games from the company.

  • + place a link next time in the discription

  • to the website?

  • it isnt there WTF lame

  • what are you talking about?

  • those it invole avanture games well then i will those games are like 60 bucks now collectors edition :P

  • thanks for completly wasting 1 minute and ten seconds of my life that I will never get back

  • no thank you i rather download old games than buying old games that i can buy for €1 on the market

  • So you don't like supporting game developers?

  • 5 dollers for a old game no thank you

  • it doesn't mean it's less valuable if it's old.

  • totally

  • too me it is will you pay 50 bucks for doom 1

  • if it's a mega-ass collector's edition. other than that no. in the world of itunes 5 bucks for a game is a decent deal.

  • well for ???? depents if it is a avanture game yes i am not playing wolfenstein 3d while i can get them from any site

  • yes i would pay 50 bucks 4 Doom 1 oh wate i did on ebay brand new...awesome game!

  • buy fallout 2. 5.99. Then tell me it wasn't worth 6 bucks. If you put in at least 2 hours and dont LOVE it, ill personally pay for jessica alba to give you a BJ.

  • ok I don't LOVE it. Where's Jessica?

  • whos jessica alba and i dont luve fallout 2 i like 3 any way i buyed duke nukem 3d on xbla the only game that i would buy for 5,99 is resident evil you better give me ashe

  • She was in the fantastic movie called fantastic four.

  • Fallout 2 was amazing dude.

  • depents if you like final fantasy role playing

  • I agree with DRM - I hate it too and it doesn't help against piracy. GOG is really great site - I've already spent about 100$ there and I loved every single game I bought.

  • lol thsi shit sucked

  • why

  • Cuz u Suck
