  • Shawn, in all my years of golf, I never heard the concept of bracing. This is fascinating to me and now I can't wait to get out and try it. Thank you sir and God bless.

I've been playing for 35 years and I just got a laser v2. It has transformed my golf game and made it fun again.

  • Shawn, how firm are your wrists throughout the swing? I'm wondering if mine is too firm, as I don't seem to get a whip sensation through impact.

  • @MikePedersenGolfTips Hey Mike!

You are struggling with the same issues throughout all your posts on my videos; what I recommend you do is go to my forum and post your questions there and you will have tremendous support for these; just go to my website above and join, we have a great bunch of friendly guys and gals that are having a blast answering questions and exchanging successes and challenges along the way. I chime in quite a bit too! :)

  • this is brilliant.

  • "2 inches off the pin!" lol love it!

  • man u are hillarious u need ur own show!!!

  • Like jdotson, I have also been working with my instructor to hold the lag and I haven't had much luck. Tonight I experimented with a swing where I imagined I was skipping a stone. We've all read this but I never really understood what it meant. I tried it and I experienced a tremendous swatting action at impact similar to Shawn's video. I saw & heard my instructor's swing, and his ball sounded like it was exploding during impact. This had to have come from a snap type release.

  • Thanks for the great comment and answer!

  • I love your videos! I was wondering what you thought of the one plane swing and would you recommend players converting to it. I've recently tried it and I am experiencing a lot of success, especially where consistency is concerned.

  • You are experiencing some good results because it is fixing a fault that was holding you back; I prefer to use the plane required for each shot by letting gravity place the club like in the "golf pro lesson swing plane" video; Thanks for the comment! Shawn

  • Hey Shawn. Great mental thoughts here to get that snap thru ball effect. For a long time I was trying to hold the lag and drop the club in. I think that is where a lot of people get the wrong idea. This is something that should just happen naturally in the transition correct? Trying to hold the lag (Using that thought) was horrible for me. But this clip does help. Thanks!

  • Hey Jdotson! Correct! Focus on the feel of the snap past impact or the release of the stone towards the pond like described by "Chabelyk" and you will get what you are looking for; when trying to hold the lag, this thinking is still pre-ball with no target and this is impossible to do properly and consistently...too many loose ends and questions like how long before you let the lag go and hit the ball? Here gravity does all the work and all you are looking for is one feel...past the ball!

  • Shawn, once again a great way to conceptualize the right feel for making a swing. I want to say though, that watching your vids about letting the hips turn as opposed to trying to build resistance has improved my game. As long as I turn the hips fully I can make a complete shoulder turn, THEN start the weight shift and add real energy to the swing. I can hit my driver right to left and add 25 yards when I get my mojo working. Keep up the good work. I recommend your videos to everyone I see.

  • Thanks Putney! Great comment and description!

  • Hi Shawn. This video is really helping me out. One thing I would like to ask though... I seem to be able to make some great contact when I swing, oh, 1/4 to 1/2 way back. When I decide to "give it some juice" and get more towards my full swing distances, I begin to make contact closer and close to el hosel. (Sometimes resulting in you know what.) I assume I am trying to add power with my arms thus rushing them through impact? Where should I get this extra power from if not the arms? Thanks!!

  • Hi Hunter! Thanks for your comment!

    Have a look at my "momentum Toss" part 1 and 2 vids; it is like pushing a kid on a swing; you need the momentum to flow down on it's own first; then when you assist that momentum through the ball with the whole body, you will get the big speed way past the ball and not at it; have a look also at the "through the ball" video...all are on the you tube shawn page of my website;

  • hi shawn, received your dvd on wednesday. you sent it las thursday to germany. thats quick!!

have seen it already. very good!

now i have to do some practice of your drills!

  • shawn, maybe for germans hard to understand the meaning of "snap". does it feel like loosing control of the clubhead just before hitting the ball?

  • Shawn The whip feels great but I have started shanking since using it! Please help !

  • Have a look at the check list I have for those nasty things in the Shanks video I have..."golf pro lesson fix your shanks"

    Shawn

  • Thanks Shawn,

I took your tip and practiced with a whip. Then I spent 5 hours in the emergency room getting little stitches.

Just joking! Great Vid! I picked this up naturally by watching your swing on other videos. But I am sure this will help someone.

  • your students

  • hahaha nice joke about using the whip on

  • thanks again for an awsome video, maybe your best..

Went out for a round after seeing this one and was thinking "Whip to the target" on every stroke ^^

Lowered my best round from 88 to 85

  • Nice to see the image and then be able to apply the feel to it and then just ride the feel for the whole round! Congrats to you and thanks for the great comment! Shawn
